EDIT: Right guys. She was a b3tan. She was a great b3tan. She was fun, and from what I hear from people who met her, she was amazing to get along with. If she was a pure b3tan, she would have the b3tan sense of humour.
Now, everybody, draw some fucking penises. In the memory of our fallen comrade.
but this is B3ta and and she was one of us.
The sickness has to go on.

but it would be done by someone wither it be social commentary, a demented cat or a cdc.
It will not deter thoughts of those who knew her and the thoughts of those who knew of her and nor will it make those thoughts any less.
I think this weeks mailout should go out in Jessies memory.

But sickness isn't an end in itself. This is a puerile digital arts community. The community bit is the important bit.

but I'd let the threads go on, there's a possibility this might entire event will become a meme of sorts. Don't know whether that will be a fitting tribute or not.
But moreover I think this is why the guardian chose not to include the word "cohesive" in its definition of the site.

Not that I know her or anything, but I don't think she'd want the site to grind to a stop permanently.
Although I'm hoping that if she gets mentioned in the newsletter, Friz would do something similar to finally get in himself.

badly-drawn phalluses in garish colours would be exactly what she wants, despite the mawkish demands of you lot.

We've always treated tragedy with irreverence around these parts.
If you now refuse to do so because it's "one of us", then you're devaluing the tragedy of all them other people.

It's ok to mock 3000 people dying, but one b3tan dies and the world stops? Get real.

I've just got back in & had to overtake a funeral procession on the road as did hundreds of other cars....respects to the departed & all that, but if the person isn't known personally then there is (by default)a certain amount of detachment from the event. My mum passed away a short time back...so I'm well aware of the pain that can be felt.....that said...those who wish to grieve should close b3ta for the day/week whatever....because life is destined to carry on and it's only looking for trouble trying to get others to "slow down" and feel "your" personal grief..........that said.......... rip Jessie(Nina)

unfortunately images and comments leading to petty squabbles and personal snipes at a time like this over assumed 'netiquette' does nothing to help b3ta as a community at all.

Wouldn't want to step on anybodies toes. It's daft bringing b3ta to a standstill - Jessie has some lovely tributes, and will continue to get more.

how come you dark holier-than-thou cunts haven't even managed to get JPG's announcement on your Popular Page? Then it'd be on the top for all fresh visitors to see, and you can shove your Princess-Diana-outpourings up your arse, I hope none of us are arrogant enough to expect the board to shut down for more than a few minutes in the event of our demise, timely or otherwise.
Get off your horse, and get back to putting tits on animals.

I agree with the sentiment of the original post that B3ta's not really the place to be mawkish, though it's hardly "Princess-Diana-outpourings" when people post here who did actually know her.

but honestly I don't think people really have the heart for this right now.
This sort of shenanigans should be saved for another day when people are ready to celebrate her life.
A day or two at least of grieving her death is still needed though.

First post after the announcement was always going to draw a mixed reaction. I'm not bollocking you or passing judgement, just commenting that people aren't ready for posts in her memory just yet.

there have been those who sadly have gone before, gone and will go in the future.
but one of this places grestest strenghts is finding power through adversity and nothing is better than that than humour.
and there is no better place for that than here and stopping that would do more harm than good.

Fallen Comrade? "She was a b3ta, a great b3tan" ? I think his bike has more than one reverse gear on this one.
Two hours in the middle of the day is the longest I've seen this place stand still, that alone should be enough testiment to how people feel. Someone had to post at some point, it's inevitable, might as well have been him posting a cock.
