# DAMNIT!! I don't CARE what the character's sexual orientation is. Just tell the bloody story!!!

# Anyone care to de-RIS me on this one?
EDIT Ohhhhh Torchwood. Sorry. Just being slow.

Well got bored of this series. Which is a shame since I really rate Eve Myles.

Sure there's a lesson to be learned here about overly convoluted plot arcs that lose the viewer halfway through them...

Oh... Hang on...

;o)

EDIT: Oh.
NOT an acronym.
No wonder I couldn't work it out.

# It's a fair cop...
I saw some graffiti under a bridge in Wigan the other week - "KEZ 4GIVE ME"

I think we can all agree that nothing says 'sorry for sleeping with your friends behind your back' quite like a barely-literate scrawl on a wall...

lovingly bound in the finest handcrafted calf-skin, and delivered by a footman on a salver to the very doorstep of the slighted person concerned.

*bzzzz*

Oh, sorry, I'm just hearing that's *not* the case. My apologies.

# Imagine a very short, pointless and frankly stupid story as short and as stupid as you can imagine
and stretch that story well past the point of snapping and make it even less pointless and even more stupid - that would still be a better storyline than this current series.

# ^this
This series is a bag of toss. And I'm trying to work out if they have a different Eve Myles in it on Sky or something, because I can't figure out why other posters here seem to like her. She strikes me a being butt ugly and wooden as a plank.

# See this is the thing I knew the minute I'd stop watching it
they would slip something in... Oo err :D But they had managed to piss me off enough to stop caring anyway - Torchwood is in dire need of Dr Who popping in a fixing everything within 20 minutes horrah!

# Really can't be bothered with Torchwood... Saw some of the first series and got utterly bored - the only episode I liked (might actually have been one of the later series) was the creepy village
Aside from the massive plot holes, I've been getting into Primeval, recently...
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 13:55, archived)
# Well, if you feel let down by Torchwood.
Don't bother with the most recent series of Primeval. It was cobblers. Apart from the very tasty time-travelling Victorian lass. She was most cute. Edit: Ruth Bradley, that's her.

# I didn't even make it to the end of that series.
Gave up just before the finale.

I picked up 4 and 5 at the weekend so I could get straight into them. Wishing I hadn't now!

Edit: in terms of disappointment I have to admit, the Walking Dead really has not held my attention - got halfway though and forgot about it. Odd, that.

But just haven't bothered going back it. Total lack of engagement on my part. I think I shall go back and re-watch The Shield again, right from the start. Now *that's* good telly.

# Harkness isn't a gay character in the normal sense.
He's a gay character of the "Mr Garrison from South Park" variety. In other words - a f**king weirdo that you don't want anywhere near you.
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 14:08, archived)
# Isn't he an alien though?
Perhaps that's what all space-gays are like. ET and Close Encounters were allegedly Spielberg funded by the CIA to prepare us for first contact.
Torchwood is Russell T Davies funded by Heat magazine to prepare us for space-gays.

# hahahahahah; damn you, I just spat my water over my keyboard
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 14:43, archived)

But as many noticed the only people who weren't gay in Dr Who were the ones that had offspring.
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 18:28, archived)
# it's ridiculous.
There is absolutely no excuse for it. It's not driving the plot. people already understand the sexual orientation of the main character. Hammering it into people at every opportunity serves no purpose.
The whole programme is nothing but a huge self-indulgent wanking-fodder project for the fat old poofs making it. ( I have nothing against poofs, fat, old, or otherwise of course but if any of us want porn we know where to find it and mainstream BBC drama is not our first port of call. )

# problem is
that the network who're funding it haven't run torchwood before, so the whole "pansexual" aspect of Jack's character hasn't been fully explained in syllables short enough for the viewers to understand. Hence the persistent "Jack wants to fuck another man despite the fact he also fancies women and aliens and has a kid and grandkid as children of earth demonstrated"

two series of torchwood was stretching it, Lauren Ambrose and Eve Myles could spend the next episode in an hour long romp and it wouldn't save the series
