not one of the founders of pirate bay. whilst i strongly suspect they are utter cockwads -- and also think they are above the law, and that a valid reason for not attending court is "i went to cambodia and got ill and neither i nor my lawyer thought it worth our time to alert the courts" -- i have not met them to verify this.

The world changes and sometimes the stuff we get nostalgic about gets swept away.
It was always cool visiting the big HMV in Manchester when I was a kid though.
Looking at the weird album covers and browsing was part of the fun of being in a record shop.

but bookwise I try to give the nice independent bookshop up the road from me as much custom as possible. Otherwise my local row of shops will only offer an awe-inspiring range of fried chicken.
