The self righteousness of some people never ceases to astound me. This is Australia Day, the day we reflect on how bloody great this place is and the price that's been paid to keep it that way by our forefathers. In celebrating tonight I was accused of being self absorbed by of all people a sepo. Now I must admit that on the face of it, we might be too proud of a bunch of sheep shearers and FOB criminals two centuries ago, but this is my land, and I am proud to stand beneath the southern cross. It's not like we combine in the mutual social self affirming festival that is the fourth of july or anything like that, Aussies just don't go in for that malarky, but I love this country, and I will stand up to be counted through and through. The thought that these tourists can come here and see our great land as some sort of theme park angers me to no end. This coming from a nation that asked us to go to war time and time again, and unfortunately we have done so many times. The worst of which in where we were used as front line expendables, with that wonderful thing that is genetic engineering enabling Monsanto to produce a product that would clear all jungle cover for the VC but would haunt our troops for many years to come. I speak of Agent Orange. Our lads went in there and hooked in for no reason other than a favour to these yanks and we are still paying the price. The gall of some people.
