Minor TJ:
This is so, so strange!! One of my guest asked me why we had note and coins for pound in this country. Obviously I told her that we only have coins and she gets out a pound note.
Someone had given her a pound note as part of her change!

Most places will take them
but shops are concerned by them because they are unfamiliar so they wouldn't know if they're fake or not. Clydesdale bank notes can be tricky because they don't say Scotland on them so it's not clear where they're from!

Scottish money isn't legal tender
even in Scotland. It is toy money for them to play with while their government spends all the money earned by English people. I do hope they become independent - talk about looking a gift-horse in the mouth.

Mars bars for 17p
Polos for 10p
the shocking day when sparkle lollies went up to 11p
half penny sweets and the confusion when they became two for a penny.
Madness, when will it end?
