# WEAPONS. YES...
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:10, archived)
# Oh my goodness, you acest of aces.
Please accept this click from myself and the young persons of Broadmoor Prison.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:11, archived)
# thank you, have another
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:12, archived)
# \o/
With these Watchmen, you are really spoiling us.

Now quick, do something I disagree with so I don't look like a sycophant. Quickly!
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:13, archived)
# I like Quorn and Tofu
(that's usually enough to rile some people)
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:16, archived)
# You're going to have to do better than that.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:17, archived)
# damn it! we're too compatible!
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:19, archived)
# Er.... most embarrassing CDs you own?
I can get dead riled over other people's music collection, this should work.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:21, archived)
# ah, hold on,
I appreciate some of the work of Morrissey

that should do it

# It's hard not to like
Viva Hate and Vauxhall and I

# For YOU.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:31, archived)
# :D
give 'em a go, especially Vauxhall, you might be surprised ;)

# A quick perusal of my CD shelf
reveals some corkers. The 3 Tenors, Way too much Boyzone and Ronan Keating. Queen, an inordinate amount of those "It's a party, 400 megamixed songs you forgot you fucking hated when they first appeared briefly that summer", and Britney.

That's the thing with marriage. After a while your music collection no longer defines you as a person. It's just some hideous amalgamate that follows you around like a wart you can't get rid of.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:28, archived)
# :O
I personally would never have allowed the Boyzone ones in the house
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:29, archived)
# I concur.
But that's the other thing with marriage. There is a point and you never quite know when it happened but at that point you no longer have any actual control over anything that comes into the house be it music, wallpaper or soft furnishings. Archie has already taken the piss out of my curtains.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:32, archived)
# My new curtains are going to be plain white egyptian cotton.
This sounds quite nice, but when you consider that I'm going to be painting the living room almost Cadbury purple, it all goes a bit wrong.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:33, archived)
# no, that's the best contrast/option to go with
our old bedroom was like that
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:35, archived)
# Luckily it's a big room
actually, here you go. This is pretty much exactly my living room, except 100 and something years ago. It's exactly the same dimensions.

I was weirded out when I first saw this, until I saw the town name, as that means it's not my living room. But it damn well could be.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:36, archived)
# lummy you've got some space! :)
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:38, archived)
# You'd think, but it's STILL not enough...
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:40, archived)
# It's a pretty much standard
Victorian parlour which would be on either side of the front entrance hallway and door. The other side would have been your guest reception room where your callers would be asked to wait.
I like bays like that but we (her )have decided that the next house will be very contemporary and glass.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:40, archived)
# There's no pretty much standard about it
I get naked in there.

Say what you like, I love it. That, the original veranda and the fact that, even stood on the coffee table, the wife can't reach the ceiling.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:40, archived)
# :S
That rather freaked me too! It is very much like my house!
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:44, archived)
# here
are my curtains that Archie 'loves' so much.
My aunt made them by hand after her and she went out shopping for cloth. I keep well out of all that stuff.

# Fucking boyzone?!
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:31, archived)
# what?
All I can say is I had nothing to do with it. They just appear every few weekends like insidious virus'. Leslie Garrett is in there a few times but I forgive that as her and the wife are chums.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:35, archived)
# Oh I'm not one to talk
I listen to Justin Timberlake.

I know, I know.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:38, archived)
# I regret to say I quite like a lot of Madonnas more recent stuff,
and I may never recover from actually really liking Toxic by Britney.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:57, archived)
# I like him best of all
you can tell it's a him because you can see his weewee

(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:12, archived)
# not yet
seen the screengrab comparison to the comic though, looks very clean-cut and more importantly VERY accurate.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:19, archived)
# You Swine sir
I've already started to draw him. Now it will look like competition. A competition I shall lose!

Woo.

# I'll win, I'm going to put a sock over my head and facebutt the floor of the oven.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:13, archived)
# haha
well done. I have a similar hat and was considering putting some tights over my head and rubbing charcoal all over my face for a snapshot.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:20, archived)
# Make sure they're thick white tights
otherwise you'll just look like a really dirty burglar.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:23, archived)
# haha
now I'm horny.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:29, archived)

(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:32, archived)
# there is no competition on B3ta
and the one that some people think is, is actually clearly labelled a "challenge" to encourage people to try things for themselves and improve their own abilities.

So challenge away sir :)
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:15, archived)
# I shall have to do it
whilst im in the cartooning mood and the subject is popular. Well I'll have to do it if I am to whore for compliments and clicks. Watchmen will go down better than characters from space 1999 I think.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:30, archived)
# Bloody Nora
That's teh wooest ever!

# Woo on a plane!
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:33, archived)
# That's very very lovely.
Tis a pity the film will most likely bomb, even if it is made well.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:45, archived)
# with the hype already surrounding it, I'd be surprised if it doesn't make it's money
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 10:49, archived)
# I'm thinking about the US audience, which will be used as a yardstick
fanboys aside:
it prominently features WTC in the trailer, meaning it may be used as a focal point in 'wide' shots, which will build up to...
given that most of the plot details are already out there, and the 'massacre' that occurs in NY in the story, most US people may not want to see that.
They won't long have got rid of Bush as a bad president, the last thing they'll need to be reminded of on screen is Nixon.

As said, in terms of the film, it could be quite excellent in itself, but I don't see it being 'huge', which - with all the hype - is what it's going to be billed as nearer the time - a huge film

Hype is one thing, all fanboys are going to do is pick it to pieces on the internet, and even though there's only one person with 'super' powers, it's going to be classed as a superhero movie to bring in punters, and many may get upset at the distinct lack of superpowers on display.

Still, I hope I'm wrong and it does ok :)
