# dead fluffy me :D
a lot of us use msn groups (see FAQ again) they only offer limited space, but they do allow remote linking and infinite bandwidth so i'd reccomend using MSN groups for stuff that's on the board. then transfering it across to a free hosting account (i like www.250free.com ) for longer term storage
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 8:33, archived)
# and if you are willing to listen to advice
sinlge frame pictures are better as jpg rather than gif, as you only get 255 colours available with gifs
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 8:34, archived)
# to further explain
the jpeg format is better at handling high colour images with lots of different colours close together, like photos.

.gif is idea for images with less colours or large blocks of solid colours, like paintmashes. also good for animation :-)

# Oh crikey!
About five hours ago I woke up with a nasty pre-hangover and wandered around the house waiting for the real thing to hit. Got water, lay on my keyboard; b3ta opened and I saw this. So yes, it does count. Keep it fluffy - make new things and whack 'em up! Good-o!

(My chinese rocket is nearly ready...)

I've seen this an awful lot in the past few days, and I haven't been on very much. It's all right to be proud of your work, but it's even better to make more wonderful stuff to share. and when you have enough, collect it in a gallery so you can share it all again without reposting! :)

# no-one
but there does seem to be an increasing trend in reposting and threadwasting since all this fluffy shit has been brought in.

if we're not allowed to point this stuff out to the new people. i fear they'll carry on doing it and nothing new will be made.
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 4:59, archived)
# Why don't people
JUST MAKE NEW THINGS! Then they'll
(a) get better at it
(b) make the world happy
(c) get a hug.

# very sound response
I add that it doesn't hurt anyone directly, especially late at night. but if it is unchecked, it could go overboard, and defeat both the purpose of the faq, and the purpose of the board. it needs to be said sometime. the newer people (for the most part) are the ones who don't know that it's frowned upon, so they get told.
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 5:03, archived)
# you were very polite, i commend you
i guess i'm too conscious of how defensive the daytime crowd is
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 5:06, archived)
# thank you.
no reason not to be polite. the people who think I'm being mean have not had the "luck" to try this for the daytime crowd. (especially baz, when he was here). I come off mean because they don't know how nice I am in comparison
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 5:10, archived)
# is baz gone?

# maybe people would like you
a bit more if you stopped lecturing them
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 4:56, archived)
# and what if i don't care about making people like me?

I lecture because no one else will. people should read the faq and follow it. most of the older members have and do, most of the new members haven't and don't. I could be yelling and swearing. I'm not. I only tell the truth.
(, Sun 23 Nov 2003, 5:08, archived)
