Questions... Answered
How about having another category (between Top Tips and Bugs and features), similar to Yahoo! Answers or 118118.

People with questions can post them, and helpful b3tards can answer. It's left as an exercise to the reader which answers actually contain snippets of truth.

There's another site I post on which doesn't accept posts that are entirely in capital letters.
The site is completely free of tedious accounts where people pretend to be giant robots.

Can we have a "Save for Later" button?
Picture the scene: you're at work, and there's a long QotW post you want to read, or a video on /links that you want to watch, or something like that - but it's not convenient, so you decide to wait until you get home... where you have to trawl through pages of stuff to see what you want (if, indeed, you can remember what it was at all).

Could there be some kind of button near to the like/ reply buttons to act as a bookmark? You'd have a "saved for later" list on your profile of things from, say, the past week that you want to see, but haven't yet.

Does that make any sense at all? Would it require unreasonable amounts of coding?

Shorten /talk
I'd like to suggest that the number of recent threads on /talk is cut down- I think at the moment it shows something like 15 recent threads, which really is a bit OTT nowadays. I know when /talk moved slower it was possible to have a conversation until it fell off the board, but now anything below the halfway line is just extra loading time. I think 5 threads is more than plenty to show the last couple of hours- anything older than that should be pushed to the next page.

This could just be my complete ineptitude at all things b3ta,
but the 'delete image' button on 'my images' is always greyed out, and it would
be useful to have it working to tidy up some old and long forgotten images.
Even selecting the image, highlighting it doesn't change the delete button.
maybe it's just me being thick (more than likely)

PLEASE make it so we can't see people we have on ignore on the popular page!

(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 16:33, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
any chance we can switch off our qotw answers?
as much as I like telling my stories to people I don't like that someone can search my name and somehow show up on my b3ta profile - I wouldn't really care if it didn't have my qotw answers in my profile.

Is there any chance that people can remove stories/that segment of their profile if they want to?

Probably a dupe
But something to consider would be an active "Thumbs Up" (I like this!) or "Thumbs Down" (I don't like this).

Just so we can see for every post how many people have clicked or negatively clicked! Some posts genuinely deserve an "I Don't Like This". It would be great to see "58 people liked this" "12 people didn't".

.....Yep

some editors for /links
not mods, just editors with the power to remove obvious 'gc' links. this has been a problem for a while now, but seeing as links has become almost as popular (and at times as fast moving as) /board it's getting quite annoying to see 'keyboard cat three moons t-shirt' for the 5th time or b3ta.com/links/Man_accuses_cat_of_downloading_bad_porn . they could also have the power to mark posts nsfw or remove shock-sites. i know that some people have not seen a link before and don't mind, but perhaps removing duplicate posts might encourage people to look at the popular page before posting and slow the board down a bit.

internets serious business etc

a "posts you made which have been replied to" page
as discussed here, would be handy.

Accidentally printing the whole of /board.
...as per www.b3ta.com/board/9626301

It's probably all tied up in Firefox's code, but is there any way you can make the whole messageboard harder to send to print?

I can't edit the subject of my post on /links
treid several times, but it keeps reverteing back to the original

OT posts in profile
Please please. I've posted there far more than anywhere else and it just doesn't show!

Can we have more icons to choose from please?
I like the current batch, but we've had them for around a year now and some fresh ones would be good.

Get rid of the \all function
The best answers should win and having this function means people can manipulate the voting and pimp for votes to ensure they win. Its only fair people don't know what's on the Best Of page until the question closes. Get shot of this function now so we can get on with the real thing for QOTW; reading the lot and voting for the ones you like. Thats about it really.

Make /talk accounts only valid on /talk
so the cunts can't piss all over everyone else's playgrounds as well as their own.

Can you fix the search function again please
it was working until you did the maintenance work on it last night up to three pages and now it'll only show you that day's posts.

Also, please can we have new post indicators on OT like talk have.

Inline replying
Would it be possible to change the inline reply setting from being set in your profile to one which is set by a cookie?
I'd like to keep inline replies for my PC, but when using my mobile, I have to keep turning this off.

This is probably a dupe
but replying to an offtopic Q, you get:

You are replying to this question:
Off Topic
Are you a QOTWer? Do you want to start a thread that isn't a direct answer to the current QOTW? Then this place, gentle poster, is your friend.

Board search enhancement suggestion/request
With recent leaps in 'intelligent search' technologies, would it be possible to have a 'by vulgarity' option next to the 'by popularity' one?

I think it'd be pretty popular. Well, I'd use it all the bloody time.
