Big Train
Does anyone else remember this? Why did it only get two series yet Little Britain is still going? DAMN YOU BBC!

Excreta
I've just been for a piss and there was a distinct odour of petrol.

Have any of your bodily fluids smelt of refined hydrocarbons? Perhaps you've had a wank that smelt of acetone, or been for a crap and someone thought the council were resurfacing the road outside.

pirated office software suggestions?
hey folks
can any tech-savvy b3tards tell me if there's any real disadvantage to using a pirated copy of ms-office? going to be buying a new system in a few months and don't particularly feel like forking out $$$ for a few months use.

I got exciting news...
Subject to my references going through, I think I've got a house! (Renting) In London... and subject to all that being good, I'm moving down on the 1st July!

Have been mega busy, whipped to submission (and not in a good way - boo) at work, so not much b3ta play for me, but wanted to share coz I'm very very very very very excited! And best of all is that the house is lovely and they are fine with me bringing my dog!

*will be bloody relieved when the moving in is done*

Arsebiscuits!
Literally, in fact. Ms Crow baked a fine selection of arse-shaped biscuits yesterday. And very nice they are too. Photographic evidence in reply.

Suggestions, please
I'm in the market for a guitar- not too expensive, but still good quality, with a low action so I don't cut my fingers to shreds. My last one was a Falcon, but I'm thinking along the lines of a Tanglewood electro-acoustic- what do you lot suggest?

Incidentally, I'm not thinking something along the lines of a Taylor here. I'm not sodding made of money...

/Edit

Christ has everyone got me on ignore?

On the subject of flouncing
Have you ever read anything or had something said to you on a forum that's made you leave or consider leaving? For me it would take quite a lot as I know that in all likelihood, I'm never going to meet the person who's said it and that if they knew me they'd reconsider their words

I'm so proud of myself.

So, I'm just listening to The Real Thing
By Faith No More.
Their cover of War Pigs is fuckin' sexy.

What cover versions of songs would you say also fall into the category of "fuckin' sexy"?

Come on my lovelies, it's nearly the weekend.

I take it back
I said in an earlier thread that nothing has pissed me off today.

That changed this afternoon when a two hour meeting became three and a half hours of utter bollocks because something liked the sound of their own voice. And then when I eventually got out, found I have an MPs letter to deal with tomorrow morning, written on behalf of someone who is basically making a mountain out of a molehill.

Ironically, it's about time taken to do project appraisals. Which has been explained to her time and again - we can only turn projects around in two weeks if we have all the bloody information needed in the first place, and the particular project in question had massive problems to resolve first. Which means that I won't be able to do any work on project appraisals until I have dealt with the fucking letter.

Damn
you take a week off from work and you miss all the exciting b3ta moments. Arguments with the colonials (possibly not the right word), interesting new meat puppets all sorts...

All I've managed is to go see Clutch (woo!) and to almost finish my garden. Turf is arriving tomorrow and then it'll be done.

I'm very much an anti-smoker
I think it's everyone's right to be able to do so, but think that the indoor restrictions are a great idea. I love being able to come home from the pub, and not reek of fags.

However, I think that this is fucking ridiculous -
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/8105585.stm

Do they genuinely think that it will stop kids from smoking, because they didn't see it in the cinema? For fucks sake, a lot of them smoke because their parents do! Are they going to ban that too?

What's next, they going to put a *censored* bar on television every time someone lights up?

My day has gone completely wrong!
I was hungover. Then got a call asking me to stay off work to look after a mate who's ill. I've spent all day hearing her throwing up, trying not to throw up myself, both of us shivering and napping. I went to the shop for her and saw my mental ex. Despite all this I've enjoyed my mate's company and the change of scene! Later I'm off to a star-studded bash. How's your day been? What've I missed?

Does your online life ever get deleted?
I've had the same username for around 11 years now and have changed my views on some things in that time. However, if I google myself using that name, a lot of stuff comes up that was written a long time ago that is no longer true or relevent. I cannot access it for one reason or another to delete it.

Makes me wonder if i (and we in general) don't personally delete every single email from this account, or from other email accounts, or online profiles/accounts of any sort, then will the content always be around forever, and able to be activated again by someone else in control, if not me, even if it is disabled/closed by your request at some point. Scary!

Doesn't it make you proud ?
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8106650.stm

"In 2005, Climate Change Minister Ed Miliband claimed £35.36 for recordings and pictures of himself in a Parliamentary debate."

"Labour's Martin Salter, appeared to have claimed for a £4.99 Toblerone bar"

"In 2005, the Conservative shadow chancellor claimed £47 for two copies of a DVD of his own speech on 'Value for Taxpayers Money'."

Does anyone have any experiance in setting up 0800 numbers?
I need to set one up, and although google has given me awnsers, I was wondering if anyone had any real-life experiance in such things. For now, it'll just foward to a mobile.

Also, where do you get your printing done? I'm going to need to print flyers and buisness cards, with loads of litrature later on.

Alternative Question: Who do you hate on here, and why?
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 14:55, 52 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
I really hate the south
Everyone here says that a good night out was carnage or bare jokes. It really gets to me. The only bear jokes I know involve why the big pause being the punchline.

DAMN YOU SOUTH!

ok, here's a topic that I bet hasn't been posted before
and I'll do it as a poll for anonymity.

My mate questioned the illegality of beastiality because although they claim it's abusing animals, if you tried it on with an animal against its will, it would either attack you, or fuck off away from you. I told him he needs his bumps felt.

Does he:

Mini poll bar
Mini poll bar

**Bear in mind that the only animals he's ever owned are a couple of canaries and a cantankerous old cat (and you can imagine how unsuccessful trying to sexually assault a cat would be)

New QOTW
Is anyone going to enjoy this week's QOTW as much as I will?

Oh man, I thought today was rubbish, offline stuff and being so far from a decent sushi place'n'what-not.
But then I saw a white envolope with my name on it, it was those padded kinds, with goodies inside. I thought this is strange, I've not needed to validate myself with syrophome packaging over the last couple of weeks.

Inside, I found this audio delight, and you know what? It's quite good.

So, in reality, it's quite a good day today !

Music
I’m really enjoying the Trip album, ‘Shortcuts’

What music have you recently discovered?
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 13:35, 10 replies, latest was 16 years ago)

I think that I'm going to write to the OED and ask them to replace the official definition of "irony" with this passage:

"In 2005, the Conservative shadow chancellor claimed £47 for two copies of a DVD of his own speech on 'Value for Taxpayers Money'."

What's made you facepalm today?

[EDIT] Apart from the VC thread earlier

I went to this café today
and the waitress said "what would you like?"
and I was like "I want a grilled cheese sandwich with some sweet chilli sauce"
and she was like "and what do you want?" to my friend*
and my friend was all like "Oh I want so and so" I don't really know what they said I wasn't listening or caring,
and then the waitress was like "so that's one grilled cheese sandwich and one whatever it was"
and I was like "Oh for fucks sake, I KNOW what I want, why do you have to ASK me twice, I did just TELL you you know!"
but she was all like walking away and giving in my order and stuff so she probably didn't hear and then she brought me back my sandwich and whatever my friend ordered and I was like "Oh thanks for that" and like rolling my eyes and I like walked out and stuff.

So, I'm eating grilled cheese sandwiches, what's everyone else doing?

*may be factually incorrect, the subject may not have any friends
