Girls are weird
I'm out on the lash tonight with some old friends from work. One of the girls has arranged it all, and has just texted me to ask:
"Dan, my sister is coming tonight and wants to know what you're wearing so she can plan her outfit."
I've met her sister once before, about a year ago. Is this a normal thing for a girl to ask a guy? Especially a guy who has the fashion sense of a blind man in a lycra store.
I replied back "a birthday suit and a smile :)"
Strangely, that was twenty minutes ago and she hasn't replied back yet...

Mental note
Never post a QOTW story that is clearly labeled as "not my own work", even if it falls within the loosely-defined boundaries of "yeah, go on then" that I've grown accustomed to...
FFS... actually, it's more than ten years old because I read it in a student magazine when I started Uni. Am I to infer that all QOTWats have read The Internet for the past 10 years?

Hmmm,
I just listened to Bright Eyes by Simon and Garfunkel. I'd forgotten it was quite a nice song.

Anyone heard this track?
The line, 'And there'll be love, love, love/ All over her face' cracks me up every time.

Help required (in the form of knowledge and / or inventiveness)
My 18 year old nephew was recently in a motorbike crash, and as a result is paralysed from about the middle of his chest down…
(I should say at this point…this is NOT a joke.)
No sympathy required, it could have been a lot worse. We’re all (him included) slowly coming to terms with his situation and are investigating disabled facilities etc.
All in all it’s not too bad, he can keep his job, and there are shitloads of things to make his quality of life as normal as possible when he gets out of hospital. Thank milky fuck for the wonders of doctors and technology I say.
Anyhoo, getting to the point, one problem at the moment is the fact that hewas is a keen drummer and the thought of never being able to play again is getting him down a bit – what with not feeling his legs ‘n’all.
I have been given the job of solving this problem. Yay me!
Has anybody heard of / know of a way that it is possible to play a full live drumkit without using your legs? I mean, if that bloke from Def Leppard can do it with one arm, how hard can it be?

I need some ideas for tonight please folks.
It's a friends birthday and we need some dares for her to do.
Not looking for the hen-night type pranks like snogging strangers or obtaining underwear.

Friday morning = time for a random question
what did/do you want to be when you grow up?
I had big plans with my friend Howard to hunt for treasure. Wrecked Spanish ships that sort of thing.
We had convoluted plans for where we would find stuff, and how we would get it. Submarines and one person hovercraft fit into the plans somewhere.
I also fancied being a pirate.
(TRUFAX: My ex was related to the notorious scourge of the Caribbean, Henry Morgan)
or an architect.

Shit
My nan passed away tonight, at 6:30.
I've just taken my mum there, when I heard the news I didn;t feel liek I thought I would. I went out for a run and came back.
Mum was in bits so I took her to the home where Nan had spent her last few weeks and when I saw her it was liek I'd been punched.
The shock was incredible.
I've never seen a dead body before but Nan looked so peaceful in her bed, then my mum went and started speakign to her and I had no idea what to do so I jkust stood there and made sure she was ok.
I never was close to my nan and now I wish I'd been to see her more.
We were there for an hour and a half, my auntie and cousin came and they were hit much harder than my mum.
When we left mum thanksed me for being so solid and dependabel but it was because I had no idea what to do.
How can I have done a good thing without knowing how?
I'm glad nan died when she did. Her quality of life was fucked, she was being waited on and she was always independent and liked it that way.
I knwo the whole thing is going to turn into a family argument and I'm not looking forward to the whole affair.
I've been listening to jack Johnson's 'If I could' seems kind of fitting since 2 of my mates are now expecting kids...
Makes me think as well
I just needed to get that off my chest.
Sorry for lack of humour.
*Edit*
Had a weird experience last night, woke up wide awake about 4AM and nipped to the toilet, as I was walking back to my room I saw a shadow over mum and dads bed (they sleep with the door open), when I blinked it had gone...
I'm not massively religious but perhaps it was Nan?

The first monkey says, "OOHH OOOH OOOHH AHHHAHH AHA AH"

Don't ever buy leasehold
The council scum who own the building will bleed you dry with huge bills for pointless work and all you can do is write angry letters.
Been in my flat 4 months and I've had bills for £4000. That's some service charge!
