Has everyone gone to the dogs?
I had a lovely New Year's eve. I threw up and fell asleep at 10pm. Beekers was to blame for bringing some shots into the equation. Had a grand day out in Edinburgh and got to the beach near DG and tourettes for a quick walk with Mildew.

The whole tone of the weekend was set by much perusing of DG's Viz album and Roger's fartlett dictionary of Viz's rude words and phrases.

Two days of hard work and then I'm off galavanting again. Huzzah!

How is everyone?

I was about to ask where you were off to before I remembered.
I'm good ta.

Hi *waves*
Sometimes I wonder if you should take the mad crazy mofo mantle from Monty.

How are the chickens?
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:47, Reply)
Charlie the chicken is very well, all her feathers have grown back after her untimely moult.
She didn't like the fireworks on NYE, she was a bit jittery the next day.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:49, Reply)
Oh dear : (
Maybe earplugs are in order next time.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:53, Reply)
Not much I can do for the chicken
but I cut short drinks with the neighbours as Lucy (my elderly cat) doesn't like fireworks and I wanted to give her snuggles through the worst of it.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:57, Reply)
Awwwwwww!
Being as I was asleep by 10pm, I missed the fireworks : (

I had an absolutely amazing new years.
That's two years in a row now. I think new years being shite is a myth, it's what you make of it and who you're with.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:47, Reply)
it's trying too hard that makes it shit
but new years is when everyone at least tries to do something. Well, except those who think it's bent
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:50, Reply)
I left it last minute to book tickets for a place in Brighton, it then sold out.
Started to shit myself and was resigned to staying in, but a mate called saying he could get me a ticket for a place in Shoreditch which turned out to be amazing.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:21, Reply)
I agree
One of my favourite new years ever I was drinking Fanta on my own.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:51, Reply)
It's shit if you forget to eat
And as soon as you get out your friends announce their intentions to fuck the plan and go places you can't afford and you start drinking doubles very quickly because you're annoyed and already pissed from predrinking all the booze in the house and you get sent home at 11 spanged off your tits.

Not that I speak from experience or anything like that.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:54, Reply)
*There there*

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:59, Reply)
It was fucking shit Jeff, it really was.
And I just found a picture evidence of me at about 10.30 on Facebook. Why couldn't they have just let me stay in like I wanted to? I'm properly traumatised.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:02, Reply)
Sounds like your friends stiched you up a bit there with the sudden 'we're going out' shout.

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:11, Reply)
Yup.
Hence the massive vodka intake and subsequent make-a-twat-of-myself-and-get-sent-home-by-my-mum-from-the-family-do.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:14, Reply)
Never mind.

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:16, Reply)
I'm almost over it
It's only taken three days of only leaving the house when absolutley necessary (i.e. work) and hiding in my bed watching DVDs and eating the rest of the time.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:19, Reply)
So this has hit you hard then.

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:21, Reply)
It's more the flashbacks to what I did before I got sent home

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:22, Reply)
Did you wake up with any random souvenirs?

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:26, Reply)
Just the phone log from hell and an overwhelming sense of shame
Have you seen that episode of Peep Show in Series One where Jeremy spends all episode trying to think of "The Bad Thing" that happened? I was like that until about 4 p.m. NYD. It wasn't as bad as his, but suffice to say it was bad enough to elicit an involuntary shudder from me when I just thought about it then.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:30, Reply)
I've never watched it.
But I know that feeling. I know that feeling all too well.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:34, Reply)
I think having a year off now and then just makes it more enjoyable when you do go out.

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:54, Reply)
Happy New Year, Ms B.
I am now just about recovered after plenty of real-life woo-ing and yay-ing in support of young Crow's manful twanging last night.

I am naturally celebrating this by heading to the nearest pub. Cheers!
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:54, Reply)
I read about that.
Good for him. I bet he's still grinning like a mong today.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:56, Reply)
And so he should be, it was a top job.
The bloke who runs the jam saw me coming in and said he'd try to get me up on the drums (I play marginally better than people who don't play).

Thankfully he forgot, so at the end of the day, both the tradition of the Blues and the audience were the winners! :-)
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:59, Reply)
I've got the flu aids. It just won't go away.
I thought I was going to puke on new years, first time in over a year for that. Laid in bed all saturday, laid about all yesterday. I don't like that.
Hope it's not a trend for the new year.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:57, Reply)
Can't Echo make you a nice cup of tea?

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 16:58, Reply)
she knows that tea is crap

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:59, Reply)
But a nice cup of English Breakfast tea is lovely.

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 18:01, Reply)
I prefer Irish Breakfast actually. And it's just not what I wanted when I was suffering from crippling hangover.
I did have a cup this morning though.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 18:02, Reply)
What about a nice pot of coffee?

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 18:05, Reply)
are we just talking about things to drink in the morning or things to drink that actually don't cure anything at all?

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 18:08, Reply)
The restorative powers of a nice cup or tea or a nice pot of coffee are clear to all.
The combination of warming liquid and a hit of caffine is enough to right many a wrong.

Are you feeling any better now?
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 18:11, Reply)
I think you're wrong. But if they make you feel better than I'm happy for you.
They don't really do anything for me, I only drink it if I want it.

I'm feeling a lot better than saturday and yesterday, but I still feel like shit.
Are you over JeffAIDS?
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 18:19, Reply)
Yeah. I've had a bit of a cold
But nothing like the full-blown JeffAIDS of last year.

Edinburgh was cool. Did a smidgeon of sightseeing and much more drinking.

A hoot or a hootenanny?
Did you bother walking up to the castle?
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:13, Reply)
No. Tourette's got dodgy hips and we were too bothered about going to the pub.
Did you spend all weekend in the pub?

I went to football as well as the pub.
I've decided that fresh-air is one of my five-a-day.

How fast do you usually drive on the M6 toll?

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:38, Reply)
under 99mph after my dad got clobbered for it
he was soooo lucky - he was in the patrol car being clobbered when an announcement came on the radio that a dangerous criminal was running down the m6 toll. the policeman turned to my dad and said, "did you hear that sir? it was your lucky day. now piss off."

this being said, extravagant beast though i normally am in every other respect, i never use the toll unless there is traffic on the m6 because £5 is a fucking massive ripoff.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:47, Reply)
And a £10 salad in a bargain.
You mentalist.
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:50, Reply)
the salad is tasty
the m6 toll is a rip off. it was ok when it was £2.50, but i am not adding a tenner to my journey when the petrol is already £100!
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 17:51, Reply)
My mum, in the 70s or whatever, was driving down the motorway at 100mph.
A police car started chasing her and eventually she noticed and pulled over. The copper said "Don't you look in your rear mirrors?" and she goes "Not when driving 100 miles an hour I don't". He laughed and let her off.

mine was great fun, thanks, although we had far too many babies in the house for my liking. the last few of us finished at about 6.30am. the children then got up at 7am. you don't know what hell is until you've had to sit through a magic show that makes tommy cooper look like david blaine after 30 mins sleep and a 13 hour drinking session...

they make too much noise when you have a hangover
and you just want to lie in your quiet comfortable bed with sweetly scented sheets being fed paracetamol and icy cold evian/diet coke at regular intervals. not watching a red cloth that is meant to turn blue stay resolutely red.

what did they have and are they going to name this one coloneldracula??
