You misunderstand meSome directors specifically choose to use black and white for the purpose of the film (cf Raging Bull).
I'm not particularly "into film" but I know many directors treat it as an art form like any other. In that case aesthetics, such as colour, are very important.

30 didn't bother mebut I had a bit of a wobble when I turned 28 as I had always expected to die at 27 having achieved greatness. Still being alive and having achieved precisely nothing was quite depressing.
