What are you talking about?You say anything controversial you like, but if you go out of your way to actually target someone then you run the risk they might ignore you and you'll miss out on some stuff.
Of course some people will be over sensitive about comments, but are they the sort of people who's posts you're likely to be sad about missing? I highly doubt it.
All this does is provide a decent solution to the fact that people with nothing to contribute but abuse will find their selection of targets diminishing, whereas those people that actually provide some amusing banter and give and take it in the spirit of the site won't.

I wouldn't know if they had, would I?My problem with it is that it's effectively banning somebody you don't like from part of the site. It's not just from replying to your posts, it's from replying to every post beneath you, since that's also how the old ignore worked. The difference being, you're not only stopping yourself from seeing what they write, which is fine, you're stopping them from seeing all these other replies.
That sort of punishment tactic ought to be mod-only, in my opinion.
