Bastard supermarketsSo Tesco have taken over a site near me than was one of the best Sichuan restaurants near me. This pisses me off.
Apparently one in every £7 spent in UK retail is spent in Tescos.
Would you avoid using supermarkets if you could?

There were tiny strawberry plants all over the bottom of the gardenI have blackcurrants to go in and gooseberries could be good too. My pear tree has been pruned, as has the cherry tree and I've got dibs on my neighbour's apples for cider making time

Supermarkets are convenient. I don't have time to go to loads of little independent shops that only open until 5pm.I would avoid supermarkets given the choice, but other shops need to adapt to the modern way of living a bit more.
Alt: Ketchup, on fish and chips, nothing else.

I tried it a couple of years agoFruit and veg from the local greengrocers, organic hippy shit from the local organic hippy shit shop, booze from a decent independent offie, etc.
But to be honest it was all a bit too much hassle.
There's a reason why supermarkets are so successful and it's because we're all cheap and lazy.

If Badge was here I am sure he would explain it betterBut it is something to do with the water in the cells expanding due to the freezing process so although technically they are fresher (or preserved from a fresher point) due to the degradation in the cell wall they can taste different to proper fresh.

I try to use grocers where I can, yeah.I'd use butchers if I could, too. Fresh food's a little different from the majority of shops, which could happily be removed to the internet in their entirety. I certainly rarely bother going to the shops for anything other than food anymore.
