I spilt wine all over minegot a usb keyboard and mouse, loaded a duff driver for the main keyboard and touchpad, kept it going.
Sure, occasionally it turns off for no reason, and sometimes when I switch it on it spends 5 minutes beeping at top volume, but that's a small price to pay for not going through the hassle of getting a new one.
