Let's say you had to watch every eppisode of a telly show, back-to-back, where you're only allowed short fag/food/shit/sleep breaks....
... but you're not allowed to watch anything else, not even the internet, until you've seen every eppisode.... what one would you pick?

I think probably House for me.

Ok, I'm going to go for it.
You had best not be lieing when you implied it's the best show in the world and would make me look really cool infront of chicks.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:35, Reply)
it's fucking brilliant
take shaun of the dead and hot fuzz, make them more like ordinary situations and 4 times as funny at least
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:41, Reply)
Desperate Houswives
as I have never seen a full episode and everytime I try to record it it goes all fuzzy and I quite like the bits I've seen so far
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:31, Reply)
Buffy
Or Spaced.

Or Black Books.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:32, Reply)
Will Black Books make me look cool ?

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:40, Reply)
It will make you look cooler
than Big Booby Cool, when he was wearing his leather jacket and faded denims, black aviators, sporting a freshly greased quiff and straddling a Harly Davidson while all the women opened their mouth slightly and got moist as they walked past and all the men made sneering expressions because they knew they could never be as cool as him.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:44, Reply)
Oh MAN !
You best not be exasorating here, I'm gonna go for it.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:53, Reply)
I tried this with House
when I was off sick. Turns out it's a very difficult task indeed. I moved on to Top Gear. Turns out there is such a thing as too much Top Gear, who knew? I decided to stop being sick and to get better.

I vote for Black Books. (We're allowed comedy, right?)

Edit: damn you al, and your beating-me-to-it ways.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:32, Reply)
You can have too much Top Gear?
I don't believe you. You've ruined me a bit, today.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:35, Reply)
I dunno
I think Dave has proved that I, at least, can have too much
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:37, Reply)
Really. I honestly didn't think it possible.
It was when I summoned the last of my strength in my weakened body and leaned over my sick bucket to point the remote at the TV that I knew I had reached a turning point.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:39, Reply)
I've pretty much done this with
House
Battlestar Galactica
How I met Your Mother
Rescue Me
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:32, Reply)
I love how I met your mother
it's comedy gold. especially Doogie Howser
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:42, Reply)
Doesn't Rescue Me have Dennis Leary in it?
FOR SHAME!
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:44, Reply)
Denis Leary
looking haaaawt

I have no shame
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:50, Reply)
Dennis "RIPPED OFF BILL HICKS BECAUSE I'M A USELESS HACK" Leary?
I hate him so much. I would gladly murder him and his family.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:57, Reply)
Obviously
not as good as Bill Hicks. But I do like shouty comedy
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:12, Reply)
No no no no no no no no no no no no
Not just not as good. He blatantly ripped off his act. Because he's nothing but a thieving cunt.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:17, Reply)
Looks
good in a fireman's uniform though
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:19, Reply)
I heartily recommend you seek out Dennis Leary on MTV Unplugged
some of the best comedy songs I've heard. Great musicians, and he can sing reasonably well.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:25, Reply)
The cancer song?

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:29, Reply)
HATE

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:34, Reply)
haven't heard that one
the highlights are:
Elvis and I
The Kennedys
Traditional Irish Folk song
Life's Gonna Suck

I'd heard some of the songs before, but they are performed really well on the unplugged thing, and it's not comedy that he stole from Bill Hicks
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:39, Reply)
I really can't decide
Gilmore Girls
Only Fools and Horses
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:33, Reply)

Its always the good stuff that gets cancelled.

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:28, Reply)
too true
I'm currently watching the big bang theory and am pleased that they have announced another couple of seasons. not sure if it will keep me entertained, but so far I've watched season 1 and half of 2 and the blonde gets more attractive by the episode, so I figure I'm on to a good thing.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:40, Reply)
You should watch
8 simple rules, she's fine in that, and the red haired sister too. I would.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:49, Reply)
I've seen it
and they are nice, but I cannot stand the guy who plays the dad, or that particular type of clean american sitcom. some are ok but that, and stuff like everybody loves raymond make me want to pull out my brain and stamp it into the ground.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:51, Reply)
He's dead now.

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:53, Reply)
the dad?
or ray romano?

the dad used to be in the odd episode of The Outer Limits - most notably the sand kings episodes. classic tv
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:54, Reply)
John Ritter
he died halfway through the second series, which is why his character suddenly dies
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:58, Reply)
Hmm.
I'd go for:

Bottom
Arrested Development
Spaced
Mythbusters

And probably a few others too. OH OH OH - and The Leage of Gentlemen.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:35, Reply)
Mythbusters is all of the awesome
I tend to watch the frequent Discovery channel marathons of that
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:36, Reply)
Yeah!

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:38, Reply)
I've done this with Futurama before.
I'd split up with my ex and was gonna give it back to her.
Decided I watch it all first.
Then put the disks back in the wrong order, as I'm petty like that.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:35, Reply)
I would have to be, in no particulat order
Spaced
Buffy
Star Trek (original)
Father Ted
BSG
Supernatural
Firefly
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:35, Reply)
Yes!
Supernatural!

I'm up to the end of series three.
Need to get hold of Four.

Well £16.08 on Amazon.

Fawlty Towers
Because there were only about 13 episodes made and it's funny enough to keep me laughing for a while.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:36, Reply)
My choice too.

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:39, Reply)

My "To Get" list
Is Season 4 of Supernatural.
Season 4 onwards of House.
Invader Zim.
Oh, and Season 2 of Millenium.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:40, Reply)
Get watching.
Season 4 Supernatural is AMAZING.

I'd do Supernatural.
Oh, and Carnivale, then maybe I'd know what was going on.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:43, Reply)
Yay!
Someone else who has seen Carnivale!

It makes no sense because it was cancelled 1/3rd of the way through.
Was meant to be 6 seasons.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:45, Reply)
I know, stupid networks.
Its one of my favourite shows, but by the end, I just wanted Brother Justin off my telly, horrible, creepy man. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about him.

Season three was going to be all about Sophie I think.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:48, Reply)
Sophie was shit though.
Justin was AWESOME!
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:50, Reply)
No thanks.
Ben all the way. I liked Jonesy to.
And I always thought Gabriel should have had more screen time. He was lovely.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:56, Reply)
I really liked
Samson. He was great!

Anyway, it sucks that they cancelled it.
Which is why I wanna see Deadwood, same kinda gritty, dusty thing!
Less magic though, and more violence.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:01, Reply)
That it does.
Maybe I'll have to check Deadwood out then.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:08, Reply)

season 2 was a corker, went down a very interesting route.

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:41, Reply)
You all need to get out more.

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:42, Reply)
But
DVD's are the only way I get to sleep at night.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:43, Reply)
Read a book.
I can't say as I've ever watched a whole series of anything in one go or seen the whole series at all.

Maybe only Father Ted.

Edit - And Firefly.

And that was because of repeats.

Edit 2 - I think I just have a problem with commitment.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:45, Reply)
But
I read travelling back and forward to work. I can't afford that many books to read them at night as well.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:50, Reply)
rubbish
I hate having the tv on when I'm trying to sleep, I don't see how anyone can do it
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:47, Reply)
I can't sleep
unless I have my dose of mindless entertainment.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:51, Reply)
am I allowed
to pick something that never got past the pilot?

If not, I used to get through maybe 8 episodes of X-Files when doing the ironing. But there's 9 series of that, so may be not all in one go
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:44, Reply)
Blackadder series 1-4
but yay for Spaced, Black Books and BSG although that is epic at around twenty episodes per season.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:44, Reply)
I'm thinking about
Getting "Deadwood".
Anyone seen it?
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:48, Reply)
Deadwood
Was great, I didn't manage to see enough of it though.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:52, Reply)
i have all three seasons on DVD
and watch it again and again - it is excellent throughout.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:53, Reply)
COCKSUCKER!!!
Good show if you like a high obscenity / dialogue ratio.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:14, Reply)
Sounds perfect!

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:28, Reply)
Oh, and Regenesis.
Because that show is all of the win.
Ten internet points to anyone who's seen it.

Firefly I do every now and then anyway.
And Life On Mars/Ashes to Ashes.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:50, Reply)
Neighbours
It'd take me about 20 years.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 15:51, Reply)

The Middleman
Only 13 episodes but absolute comedy genius. Or The Unusuals, quirky cop drama that was apparently too smart for American TV. Or Better Off Ted, another fantastic comedy.Best of all, none of them have that many episodes so I can quickly get back to not being held at gunpoint.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:27, Reply)
Fawlty Towers
Only 12 episodes
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 16:33, Reply)
Are you sure?
You don't think they maybe made a load more and then lied about it on the internet?

And then pretended it never happened?

What do you think?
