I have to carefully select my alarm to ease me into wakefulness. I've currently got some nice chilled guitar music by Gordon Giltrap

is one of the basic ones that came with it, one that actually sounds like a ringing phone. That makes it easy to distinguish in public as everyone else has music clips for theirs.
The images I use are ones that I shot with it, some nice outdoor settings. I would use ones of naked women, but I suspect that my kids would find that to be creepy.

I hope this means that you are a good and noble person.

I do, however, have some odd ringtones programmed in for friends who call a lot. They're all ones that came with it. One plays a chunk of what sounds like an early Backdoor Boyz song, another is a bizarre little Calypso sounding bit, a third is generic rock guitar, another is Spanish guitar of some sort.
And for one frequent caller I have a rather jarring set of random tones, slightly abrasive to the ear. I found it appropriate.

what the shit
the faster kill is actually my text tone, I hate talking on the phone and only do when my mum calls.
(, Mon 29 Mar 2010, 18:53, Reply)
I like talking on the phone.
I'm a prolific texter though!
(, Mon 29 Mar 2010, 18:57, Reply)
If someone calls me I will ignore the call and text back.
Really, you can text it without bleating over the phone.
(, Mon 29 Mar 2010, 19:04, Reply)
And if it's something like facts, yes.
But what if you want to just sit and have a laugh and a natter. Or phonesex.
(, Mon 29 Mar 2010, 19:05, Reply)
but when people have 10,000 free texts a month, and still use indecipherable textspeak it really does.
(, Mon 29 Mar 2010, 19:12, Reply)
I mean, an 's' comes easily at the end of a word, especially when using predictive.
A 'z' is harder to use.
But we still get texts like "just in da hous wotchin frendz boxet" from the slow-witted boy down the road.
(, Mon 29 Mar 2010, 19:15, Reply)
and that's because she can't text

The ringtone for my boyfriend Lady GaGa Bad Romance. The ringtone for my ex husband is "He's a cunt, he's a cunt, he's a c u n t cunt".
If I'm with friends and my phone rings while I'm in the loo or something, I usually come back to them cracked up laughing saying "Rick called".
The ringtone for all my fishing friends is Brad Paisley's "I'm gonna miss her", and my best friend gets the highly dubious Genie In A Bottle - it's kind of an in joke.
Oh, and the background is a picture of daffodils.

and ringtones individually - e.g. a bald mate gets "Incoming message from the Big Giant Head!" from 3rd Rock. The Vet is "Animal" by Def Leppard. etc etc
I've just checked - the ringtone for anyone not in the phonebook is George W Bush's infamous "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, won't get fooled again" clip. Apparently I went lolwacky on a comedy clips website.

I have a 'ringing old-skool telephone' ringtone and a photo of my child as wallpaper. But I prefer to think of this as 'tasteful and restrained'. But I would, wouldn't I? No-one is deliberately dull, are they?
(, Mon 29 Mar 2010, 22:09, Reply)
on both the iPhone and the Blackberry I have a classic "b-ring B-ring" ringtone and a transforming transformer sound for the texts "Cha cha cha cha ch"
For wallpapers I have recently changed to Heels-Wallpaper.JPG on the Blackberry and Pink Floyd Girls.JPG on the iPhone.
Edit: This isn't counting the various personalised ringtones for a few people.

i expect a proper flaming for this and am armed and ready....my wallpaper is a pic of my dog standing at the bar of my local having heard the rustle of a pack of pig scabs. My ringtone is "Dreamimg of You" by the Coral. I'll get me coat.

is some boring picture of pebbles that came with the iphone.
i got a bit swept away with the novelty of itunes and now different groups of friends have different ringtones... "i gotta feeling" for old school friends, "mr brightside" for work friends, "forever" (the chris brown one) for generic incoming calls... "paradise city" (the guns 'n' roses one) for one particular person... it is a bit embarrassing when it rings though, i feel about 12.

And the background is a lovely, peaceful view of Western Europe from space. Rather calming, I find.
I like to confuse myself. I think.

"All along the watchtower" for texts and some generic sunset pic as a background.
Edit: I hate being called by people I don't know (not that hot on people I DO know, if it comes to that) so it's usually on silent.
