Mmmmmmmm
Fruit juice, croissants and cafe con leche.
Staple diet of the retired man.

How is your day starting?
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 7:34, 64 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Cup of strong tea and porridge with honey and dried fruit
and a handful of vitamins and supplements.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 7:39, Reply)
Tea
and tiredness.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 7:42, Reply)
coldly. that's how. :(

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:04, Reply)
Thought you liked cold?

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:05, Reply)
I like being warm when it's cold.
I don't like being at school when it's cold cos the school has no heating and is usually colder then it is outside.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:10, Reply)
Coffee, coffee and more coffee
The sixth cocktail last night probably wasn't a good idea when the alarm was set for 5:15!
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:07, Reply)
I forgot to reset my alarm after taking yesterday off.
I woke up this morning going 'shitshitshitshit' - two minutes before my alarm would have gone off.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:27, Reply)
Starting with a bang
My car pissed itself this morning on the way to work. I have just got in after a recovery.

Cuntycuntycuntycunt.

Anyway, why are you up so early? I thought the retired got up to watch loose women or crap in the attic.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:25, Reply)
Or Loose Crap / Women in the Attic

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:30, Reply)
I'd watch the latter show.
The first one doesn't appeal.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:37, Reply)
Wait till you have piles
You'll become a convert.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:34, Reply)
Woke up at six as usual.
I'll go back to bed later. Maybe an afternoon nap?
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:41, Reply)
Good, don't stress yourself.

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:44, Reply)
Shitty.
I drank cider yesterday evening, watched the snooker and decided half nine at night is a great time for a big plate of nachos. Man, they were good, but today I'm ruined.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:25, Reply)
Muesli, water,
waiting for: the phone engineer to arrive, plasterboard to be delivered, the skip to be taken away, the heating guy to phone, a quiet bit of time to mark the third year coursework.
I would love a coffee but the cooker has been disconnected for the past 2.5 weeks. I may have to fork out and buy a takeaway one (coffee, not cooker).
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:28, Reply)
ibuprofen, skimmed milk and honey nut cornflakes
I had a very vivid dream of being in two-seater plane and now I'm googling them to learn more.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:42, Reply)
Toasted french bread and apricot jam.
Three cups of tea so far, and the kettles on now. I'm first in today so the natural spirit of bonhomie means I'll have a cup ready for my mates when they arrive. We always have a cup and natter first thing - you'll remember those times.
Then it's the challenges, intellectual stimulus and rewards that come from a day's work well done.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:45, Reply)
This post seems to be full of internet work based lies.

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:09, Reply)
Nothing
Right now I'm preferring longer in bed. I know it's a false economy as I'll feel more tired for not eating, but you can't beat the extra 5-10 minutes in bed!

In fact my entire healthy eating/fitness regime has fallen to pieces. Motivation has never been lower. I blame work being shit.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:57, Reply)
I just had a slice of chocolate cake
I was back up to 13 stone 5 this morning. /depressed
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:36, Reply)
Muesli with the raisins taken out and with extra nuts added.
I had a dream involving Jordan, (the busty chavette and not the country), where I seemed to be her assistant and I was trying on loads of bras she'd ordered and she didn't want.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 8:58, Reply)
I dreamt Girls Aloud were performing topless, still didn't buy their records...

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:09, Reply)
Ewwww!
How could you put your tits where Jordan had put her's?

The thought of it... No hang on, cancel that last remark.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:12, Reply)
I hadn't.
I'm hardley Jordanesque size so she must have ordered the wrong sizes.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:16, Reply)
Probably, she is as thick as two short planks.

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:20, Reply)
I love the snooker
but I don't like the sense of sadness when it's all over and you know that's it for another year. Well until the autumn anyway, but the Grand Prix just isn't the same as the World Championship.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:16, Reply)
you're wrong
snooker is dull. So very, very dull

Bollocks, compared to Pole Dancing
it's like comparing a firework display in your garden to Hiroshima. Yes, I just used the nuclear bombing of a Japanese city in a flippant comparison. What are you going to do.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:20, Reply)
I'm going to pole dance in anger.
I liked your capitalisation of Pole Dancing.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:38, Reply)
I think the word Pole
needs more emphasis. It makes the whole thing seem a little bit sluttier if you emphasise Pole.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:42, Reply)
I'll say it with a raised eyebrow from now on

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:59, Reply)
Its 9.16
and I just discovered big bowls of red hot chilli are not good the day after.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:16, Reply)
I had the most ridiculously hot chilli
in a pub in Holloway, the next day my 10 pint hangover was nothing compared to the agonising gut pains from that.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:18, Reply)
Coffee
but no breakfast because I forgot to pack today's variety box. Sadface.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:17, Reply)
You should keep
the whole variety pack in your desk drawer.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:19, Reply)
I meant to, but I bought it at the weekend
and I walk to work so I can't fit the whole thing in my bag, I have to take them a few at a time. But I forgot.

In other news, someone from b3ta has added me on Facebook and I don't know who it is. I don't want to ask though, I'm trying to look for clues.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:24, Reply)
Who is it?

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:28, Reply)
As in what's their real name
but don't post it here, obviously, but I might know them.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:29, Reply)
Nobody's friended me. : (
Boring old fart that I am.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:38, Reply)
If I befriend you
your status updates of "is at home" will just make me have an embolism.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:39, Reply)
I don't know how to use facebook properly.
A learning curve to be approached at low speed I think. What's a status update?
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:41, Reply)
it's where you bore your friends with inane details about your life
although mine is currently awesome as it is Star Wars Day.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:48, Reply)
Oh I see
I was wondering what that was about.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:49, Reply)
May the 4th be with you

I added you over the weekend
as I spotted the dinosaur hat. I'm pretty sure I gave my username though.

I have a drawer solely for food at my desk. It's rather empty just now though
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:24, Reply)
I brought some crisps for lunch
that I could possibly turn into breakfast crisps. They're one of the new Walkers flavours, Edam. They actually taste like Edam, it's amazing.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:39, Reply)
They are my favourite
But I'm on a diet now, so no crisps for me.

My drawer is usually full of food too, but today is completely empty.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:08, Reply)
fruit juice
chocolate croissant and a sugar doughnut.

followed by a shit load of work, accounting and GODDAMNED FUCKING RAIN!! It's like being in fucking Britain (3 days non-stop rain)
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:23, Reply)
Boy are you going to have a suger slump in a while.

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:48, Reply)
I go away for the weekend and come back to a Linux question at the top of the popular page.
*sigh*

My day started by going to the bank and getting served by a rather lovely red head, it's almost enough to make me tolerate barclays.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:47, Reply)
Not too badly
Had a fantastic weekend, although a little complicated. Ended up snogging one of my best mates. We've been stupidly close for a long time, and she's just split up with her fella. We've both admitted we know we'd be good together, but neither of us want to take the chance of hurting the other. Neither of us are good in relationships, you see.

But today is mainly amusing for the girl who got quite drunk at the work do on Friday, and ended up dancing in a rather dirty way with another office girl. We're all fine with it, but they're both a little uncomfortable, haha!
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 9:54, Reply)
Sounds like fun
My office parties are never like that. Probably because I'm usually the only woman.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:09, Reply)
It started ok
But now my eyes are all itchy and I feel my cold is not gone. I hope it improves, but right now I only want to go to bed.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:01, Reply)
I have not stopped!
From the moment I arrived at this godforsaken place I have had enquiry after enquiry, phonecall after phonecall, and dealings with an irate lecturer who in another life gave me and my entire philosophy tutorial group very bad marks. I bear a grudge.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:26, Reply)
A philosophy lecturer from another life?
That's a bit deep for a Tuesday morning...

Woke up with a bit of a start this morning
After an awful lot of beer yesterday in the fair town of Lewes, I was inclined to go into work a little later, with the reasoning that I'd be there until later than normal this evening. Then I remembered I was supposed to meet my students this morning and grumbled to self a bit before staggering out of bed. I've just spent the last 20 minutes or so talking to them and being painfully aware that I'm really quite spaced out this morning. Think I might need some more coffee...unless anyone can recommend something else to focus my currently incongruous thoughts...?

Edit: And just to second Chompy's befuddlement - how the hell is a linux tech question at the top of the popular page?
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:27, Reply)
What were you doing in Lewes?

(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:29, Reply)
A friend of mine plays the violin with the procession band for the Mayday Parade
So he invited us down to see it. We accepted the invitation, with the not-too-subtle ulterior motive that it would put us in the same town as the Harvey's Brewery.
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:30, Reply)
I grew up there
It's a nice place. Harveys is a fantastic Brewery. Have you ever been to Bonfire Night there?
(, Tue 4 May 2010, 10:32, Reply)
Lovely place, though I've never been to the Bonfire Nights
Heard about 'em, though - most notably the one in the year that Greene King bought the Lewes Arms and stopped serving the Sussex Best.

(Sad news on that front, though - having forced GK to reinstate the Harvey's SBB, I arrived there yesterday to find the pub was now owned by Fuller's. At least they've kept the SBB on the pumps, but I'd been hoping for a repeat of the lovely pint of Dark Mild I'd had there on my last visit...)
