[YouTube] Telephone interview between Ian Collings (TalkSport) and the girl who started the Facebook page about Roewl being a legend.

Tell me, how are YOU gonna sort out this country?
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:26, 132 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
you don't want to know Gonz

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:28, Reply)
You're not going to exicute me, or any of my loved ones, or even any of my liked ones, are you?

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:29, Reply)
of course not
would I do that?
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:30, Reply)
You might be on the blob.

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:32, Reply)
It'll be something I don't want to know about.
Fair enough if I didn't know about it, out of the blue, but it's one of the sollutions I wouldn't want to know about.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:35, Reply)
I'd only do good

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:35, Reply)
Oh, I'm not entirely sure why I wouldn't want to know then.

Massive changes to the education system.
Critical thinking to be taught as soon as they start school.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:30, Reply)
Or something wakki like kill people who disagree with me lol

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:32, Reply)
Can't teach common sense.
And it looks like down the chain, you lose a bit with each generation, thick as pig shit cunts having thick as pig shit kids. I'm an optimistic kindda guy mostly, at least, I like to think I am, mostly. But some people really shouldn't be allowed to bring up kids.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:36, Reply)
Of course you can teach common sense, kids aren't born with it and so they need to learn it.
And the genetic component of intelligence is totally overshadowed by the amount of time the parents spend with their kids.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:43, Reply)
But what if the parents are a bad influance, as such is many cases?
I'm not saying they're bad people, just bad influances, normally I presume lacking in 'life experiance', 'commons sense' or 'general education' themselves? They'll pass that onto their children, except as always the way, it'll get worst and worst until it reaches a curchendo* and a generation would rebell into a decent way of life, or will end up being locked away for life before being able to breed.

*croo-shen-doe
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:48, Reply)
I agree with Pyschochomp
yes parents are a massive influence on children, but that doesn't mean that some of that influence can't be fixed or modified. From the age of five onwards, you spend as much time at school as with your family when you factor in sleep/ bus journey etc
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:51, Reply)
That's a double-edged sword.
Ignorance and, for lack of a better word, 'chav', could spread like a cancer, via the schools.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:53, Reply)
thus Pyschochomp's emphasis
on critical thinking and reform of education make sense
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:55, Reply)
Yeh', but the mug in me wants to give familes 'one last try'.
Maybe our whole system of having families at all is a mistake in this day and age?
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:01, Reply)
well I agree
families are an extremely important tool. But they're not something that is easy to change
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:03, Reply)
Yeh', I agree, can't really change families, at least, you could but it would take loads of generations.
It's a sad fact, that for a lot of these families, the only way to get them to want to 'improve' themselves, is financial incentive... carrot or stick though? I donno.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:07, Reply)
that may be true but we can only police what goes on in peoples homes in a very limited way.
We have an educations system, I think it should be chaged a lot, not just in terms of funding but actual direction, especially pre GCSE age. If that happens then we can limit the bad influence of the parents and hopefully break the cycle.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:52, Reply)
I see what you mean, but I'm not sure I like the connaughtations....
... that we would no longer be trusting families to instill 'better' values on the youth, but I guess it _is_ a sign of the times. But can a teacher's word _ever_ be strong than a parents, in the eyes of the child?
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:55, Reply)
I love how you have spelt connotations there

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:27, Reply)

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:35, Reply)

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 18:28, Reply)
A eugenics programme should do it.
Just prevent certain people breeding and we'll be fine.

For example

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:36, Reply)
Increased benfits for people who take regular education in regards to bringing up kids in a 'good standard', as deemed by 'the system'.
It's a carrot methord, but I agree with it.

I would totally do this

The chemical neutering of sex offenders, drug offenders and violent criminals
NEUTERLOL
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:43, Reply)
So if you're caught with drugs when you're 17 you'll never be able to have kids?

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:44, Reply)
Nah you gotta be really bad like
proper big dealer. I was watching Cops with Cameras last night and a guy caught with a stash of Heroin and various drugs paraphernalia received a £100 fine.

I was fined £70 for pissing on the street on a night out so I am extremely bitter.

That's like if he was given 100mg of neuter drug for his drug offence I practically got 70mg and have hardly any swimmers left...
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:47, Reply)
It's a ridiculous idea, it would never work
why would you think these criminal masterminds will be put off by the threat of them never being able to have 2.4 kids.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:49, Reply)
These criminal masterminds
are invariably the offspring of criminals. Yes I am making a sweeping generalisation but I'm trying to sort out the country here. What the fuck is the actual PM boys doing apart from engaging in daisy chains with their party members?
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:52, Reply)
that's not sorting a country out
that's just a short term solution and not even an effective one
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:54, Reply)
You mean stopping violent criminals, drug scum and sex criminals reproducing
will not help the country?

I did not consider this possibility.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:57, Reply)
of course it won't
that's just ridiculous. First of all as Chompy pointed out, it's not an effective deterrent for those you have to worry about (i.e. the grown up criminals) and second of all it is brutal trampling of human rights. Do you genuinely think people are born criminals? Do you really think we have a limited, set amount of families that generate criminals?
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:59, Reply)
They've got the bad genes
like those jews.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:02, Reply)
I can also suggest that a £100 for a Heroin fiend is not an effective deterrent
that was the equivelant of a couple of "wraps".

But if you allow me to get all Daily Mail for a second, yes I believe a number of criminals are born into a criminal environment. Of course it's not going to stop all crime but I propose that it will help. You think it's the human right of a violent criminal or sex monster to reproduce?
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:03, Reply)
of course
I forgot. Human rights are only given to the people we want to have human rights. That's where I've been going wrong.

Rather than arbitrary and ineffective short term measures, we need to take a long term view of a restructuring of society with an emphasis on tougher terms for criminals, and adequete support for those at most risk of becoming part of the criminal element
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:06, Reply)
That wouldn't make for an interesting post though
But still I stand by the fact that certain criminals in this here society should not have the right to bear children, just like certain criminals should not have the right to live.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:09, Reply)

(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:20, Reply)
I'm not exactly a hard-nosed nazi
but the current justice system is extremely flawed. Especially that part of me getting a £70 fine for peeing in the street. I'm more outraged about that than any murderer getting any wrist slapping..
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:26, Reply)
I find it hard to be aggrieved on your behalf
having to avoid trickles of piss on the ground is not one of my favourite activities in high heels
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:32, Reply)
It's not as if I whipped my cock out in the middle of the pavement
it was in a stagnant hidden corner at the back of a derelict building.

Again that's not the point - someone caught with thousands of pounds worth of class A drugs and equipment got a £100 fine compared with my £70.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:49, Reply)
I believe it's everyone's right to reproduce
However, I do believe that no one has a right to be supported by the government because they have kids. Yes, the government may choose to support some or indeed all, but I hate the sense of entitlement that some people have.
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:06, Reply)
agreed
but that's a seperate argument from whether they should be allowed to have kids at all
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 17:07, Reply)
I also agree with that.
The problem I have isn't so much that people are having eleventy billion kids, it's that they demand support for them.

well chemical neutering
implies impossibility to have sex, not just reproduce. And is presumably not irreversible. Not that I'd ever condone it obviously
(, Thu 15 Jul 2010, 16:53, Reply)
You might get a black-market for children, someone who wants to influence a kid into a young teen to take on their criminal activites.
Donno, maybe that's far-fetched, but the potential is there.

How about a lottery to allow people to breed?
Natural selection with a little assistance. Winners could sell their rights to breeders.
Redistribution of wealth AND a way of limiting the population.
Oh and don't allow people to turn down jobs or weasel out of them.
A little bit of coercion goes a long way. These ideas are far too good to keep. I'm going to sell them to the Daily Fail.
