tales of recession hardship
The crazy cat lady who lives in the house opposite has started making random bird call sounding whistles in the street. Can she no longer afford cat food? worrying times.

Sounds heavenly.
I'm doubly pissed off because it is threatening to go to full on fuckyouchybastard pain, which will involve MORE time off.

Luckily, although I am not allowed ibuprofen at the moment, there's nothing wrong with me taking codeine.

Get thee off to the dentist pronto madam
And buy some Anbesol in the mean time.

I'm ringing them tomorrow, see if I can get an evening appointment or
just put up with it till next week when I am off.

Use some strong mouthwash as well, like Listerine
Some of it will get in and it might be enough to scare the infection off.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 21:56, archived)
This, with added Corsodyl
If you're allowed chlorhexidine
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 21:59, archived)
My pal the dentist (ret) says the only thing that works is corsodyl

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 22:01, archived)
Well, oftentimes an infection occurs if you brush really well, then lapse for a few days
In which case Listerine and proper brushing (even if your gums bleed) works well
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 22:03, archived)
Oh well
So much for 40 years of dentistry experience. I'd best go and punch her.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 22:06, archived)
Heh, so angry
Yet a good dose of brushing and Listerine has worked well for me oftentimes.

But seriously, Chlorhexidine's pretty nasty stuff, and using it too often doesn't help. It stains your teeth and should only be used for a major infection.

A lot of dentists have told me that, because I'm prone to gum infection.

I'm talking about times they've given me antibiotics, too.

"Lend us 50p so I can get the bus back to Newport"
I always say no, and he's been there for about 3 months now, how expensive is the bus to Newport?! Crikey!
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 21:52, archived)

it always seem to cost exactly the same as crack.

We're never going to find out unless you start giving him the 50ps and count how many days until he is gone.
Are there cruelty laws stopping you from assisting someone in their attempt to go to Newport? There should be.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 21:54, archived)
I assumed other people were giving him money.
Maybe I am being harsh, tomorrow I'll buy him a bus ticket that will get him to Newport, he'll be so happy.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 21:56, archived)
Chances are a train ticket would be not only quicker, but cheaper too.

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 21:58, archived)
Nobody wants to get to Newport quicker.
Are you getting the jist of this?
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 22:00, archived)

And it's not just the distance that prevents frequent visits.
