also (tenuous Radio 2 link) - I think Ken Bruce might be a closet b3tan. He quoted the Obama "change we need" slogan in the context of 'is Obama Yoda or something?

Clearly been following the compo this week.

# *proud TOG here* :)
We'll soon know if Bruce is a closet B3tan - there'll be a popmaster section in the newsletter ;)

"The Incredibles" was better.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:10, archived)
# again, sir
You're completely right.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:14, archived)
# But I don't want to.
a) I don't like things about loneliness, and it looks all lonely.
b) I'm not a huge fan of kids films, except for the ones I saw when I was one and Monsters Inc. This is my weakest point.
c) I just have no will to watch it. Like the Sound of Music.

The problem is the people who want me to watch it (read: my two best mates) seem to think it's Citizen Kane or something.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:05, archived)
# You should make them watch Citizen Kane first...
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:06, archived)
# I think a trade off may be in order.
Citizen Kane, possibly. HOWEVER as I might be bored by Wall-E I might make them watch something equally as boring. Like Night Mail.

Night Mail? I think it's called that. I should know, I was made to watch it about 20 times.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:07, archived)
# that puts me off too
WATCHITWATCHITWATCHIT!
as though you are unabel to make up your own mind

having kids is great because i have an excuse to watch kids films, although tbh i am getting sick of disney/pixar movies
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:06, archived)
# That's the thing, That's exactly it. I haven't even got any.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:08, archived)
# No Disney/Pixar movies!!!

(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:09, archived)
# O_o
WELL I do have a couple (although I'm failing to remember what they are at this moment), but I survive well.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:10, archived)
# I've managed to avoid Wall-E so far
but I have a horrible feeling Madagascar 2 will be inflicted upon me if the reaction to the trailer before Bond was anything to go by.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:12, archived)
# Madagascar will suck
But Wall-E is great.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:19, archived)
# I finally got around to it a couple of nights ago.
It's actually very charming. Not mind-blowing by any means, but it really is a lovely film that leaves you feeling happier after you've watched it... And this is coming from a man who prefers to have the majority of his film's protagonists kicked in Eastern ways/shot at/detonated by the the end of his films. Preferably while dressed in black shiny outfits.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:13, archived)
# ^this, on all counts
it's just a charming, and very accomplished film that 'works'
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:14, archived)

# Disney movies are a very subtle form of contraceptive.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:10, archived)
# It really is rather good.
Thankfully Pixar are no longer Disney's bitches. So no more crap like Cars hopefully.
(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:10, archived)

The animation is amazing though.

(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:18, archived)
# It's certainly not Citizen Kane

(, Tue 4 Nov 2008, 13:17, archived)
# aye, the pace slackened a bit, escpecially after it got set up the week before
mind you, it's just after mid-season, so it's gearing itself up for the final act.
