My mother and I long ago reconciled the fact that I don't need a special day, once a year, to show her how much I love her and I'd be a poor son if I did.

Even saying I cooked dinner is a bit of a cheat because I cook Sunday lunch every week for both my estranged ( from each other, not me ) parents and anyone else who'd around .
We had 8 today but I'm glad they have gone.
