A poll
Out of interest:
Someone on "Common" said guys wearing any form of jewellry except a wedding band is hideous and dirty.
I'm rather partial to blokes wearing one (small and tasteful) neck decoration, be it a thin chain (not long) or a more hippy leather band thing. In fact, it makes blokes look teh mighty sexual and rape-worthy to me.
Am I alone? Mistaken? Or just plain insane?

CALLING ALL TECHIES
Afternoon all,
Knowing the amount of techies that lurk in these waters, I thought this might be the best place to ask for help (I'm not stupid enough to venture onto talk). Anyways, I have some CDs of some voice recordings that were given to my firm by our client's previous solicitors. They're all .hvc, which as far as I can tell is Hot-Eye Video codec. I need to listen to these asap, but I'm struggling to get a demo downloaded for the codec, all the sites I've tried have ended with errors and no download. Can anyone help please?
Thanks
EDIT: VLC does not want! What I think I'm looking for is a reputable site that'll allow me to download the Hot-Eye Protector program, if anyone knows of it?

Since it's my birthday today
Is it feasible for Celtic to lose to Man United tonight? Could the Universe do that to me?
Or does football work by taking the total of one teams supports birthday on any given match day and comparing it to the opposition supporters equivalent?
Incidentally it's Nemanja Vidics birthday today and I assume he'll be supporting Man United.

Cunundrum
I think about picking my nose more than I do about sex, but I like sex a lot more than I do picking my nose. It's like a möbius strip of desire.

Morning all
Tuesday: that day that is better than Monday for some reason, but still so far from next week that it makes me a little sad.
Highlights of your Tuesday anyone?

b3ta bash pics
UPDATE: The pics have been updated and I've started a new bash-pics thread.
Bash pics from the Sep 25 and Oct 18 bashes are now online!
These are just my pics. Scarpe also took some.
Enjoy.
EDIT: Pics are currently not in the b3ta bash pool. See my reply for links directly to the photo-sets.

Help needed!
You know the little cymbals they use on tambourines, the little round metal disks? Anyone know where I could get some, other than ripping apart cheap tambourines?

Science question
If cold air sinks and warm air rises, how can a hole between a cold basement and a warm ground floor room let cold air into the upper room?

Nothing to add on 'common'
So...am I the first to discover the joys of listening to songs alphabetically on my iPod? It gives you pretty much as random a selection as 'shuffle' with the added bonus of hearing multiple versions of the same song by different artists in succession.

A young chap is down on his luck...
..and walking down a country lane one afternoon lamenting his lack of a job/girlfriend/personality or equally sized testicles.
Desperate for some work and starving he decides to walk up to a local farm and see if there is any casual labour or cow inseminating that needed doing.
Our hero meets with the farmer and has a discussion about what he could be skilled in doing down on the farm.
“Can ye milk a cow” garbled the farmer.
“No, I’m afraid not” replied the young man.
“Well have ye ever driven a tractor” questioned the farmer.
“No, no I haven’t” replied the increasingly desperate young man.
“Wha about a chicken, can you kill and pluck a chicken?”
“Oh god no!” the young man desperately answered.
“Well I could do with some help in the stables, have you ever shoed a horse”
“No” the boy answered excitedly, “but I once told a donkey to fuck off”.
Your pier is mine!

Birthday blues
So..it's me birthday today. The real one, not the B3ta one. And it's rubbish! I've got a bad neck, I can't turn my head, my husband has flu so they'll be none of teh sexytime and, to top it all off, we've got to go to a silly neighbour's meeting tonight instead of doing anything fun. Bah. Anyone got a joke or anything to cheer me up?!
Birthday = suckiness.

To those folks going to the Edinburgh Bash in April
Would any of you be up for doing one of the ghost walks?
I can just imagine what they would be like with us lot on it.

I get to start half an hour late today, which is nice. Perhaps the highlight of my day, in fact.

Help please.
Since most of the members here have amazing computer abilities, this seems like the perfect place to ask for help. Does anyone know if it is possible to do the conversion from photo to pop-art (see link for what I'm talking about) with a program and if so, what programs would work.
allpopart.com/samples_gallery.php?browse_by=&detail=4
Thanks guys!

Quick and dirty...
My friend's just had a baby girl. I went into the hospital to see them, and she asked me if I'd like to wind her.
I thought that would be a little bit harsh. So I gave her a dead leg instead.
