Morning good people.
I am losing my assistant today - bad times.

I have peanut butter on toast - good times.

What does the day hold for you?

Alt: Is Dr David Starkey right? Are whites becoming black?

(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 9:32, Reply)
I have it on good authority that the good Dr Starkey
is a creepy, aggressively predatory homosexual and in his younger years put his career and reputation at risk repeatedly due to his unstoppable ferretting activities. With that in mind one might imagine his attitudes to minority groups might be a little more tolerant.
(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 8:37, Reply)
Quite.
I am encouraged there were 700 complaints when he spouted this particular brand of shit on Newsnight.

It was great to see Emily Maitlis get angry too.
(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 8:39, Reply)
Nick Griffin is apprently most impressed.

I have food in my fridge and am being good at being thrifty - good times.

I've missed this whole David Starkey thing
Could someone give me the abridged version please?

I can assure you I'm about as far from black as is conceivable, after several months of running in the sunshine wearing a sleeveless top my arms are still positively vampiric.

Dr Starkey
said on Newsnight (vis a vis the riots) that white people were becoming like black people.

More than inferring that black people loot and rob. There were 700 complaints.
(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 9:06, Reply)
I heard that he was attempting to explain himself, but kept getting shouted down?

(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 9:07, Reply)
His point wasn't that,
his point was that the problem was with a culture of violence that has been imported from the outside world.
What he has forgotten is that we quite liked a riot before we ever saw a black person.
(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 9:16, Reply)
Ahh, fair enough
Cheers for that, I'd only really heard half of it, and wasn't certain.

(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 9:19, Reply)
I should qualify that by saying
That when you say something the rules are obviously reversed: you imply and they infer.

I think you'll be able to start an argument with Millie Tant by implying men aren't all potential rapists.

Yeah', I know, I can't believe Swipy invited you over to her house, with all those drunk women, and made you pull out before you could have some fun.
I'm debating weather to turn up or not now, it hardly seems worth it, unless they're meeting at the pub and already have their bags so they can't say "Sorry gonz, I can't make love to you all night long in a heated passionate way, my bag is at Rachael's place and my train leaves early so I don't have time to pick up my stuff on the way home. I do hope you don't mind, maybe next time? Gosh darn it, if only I hadn't left my bag at hers first".

Yeah, I'd much rather have a smaller, Victorian house
than one of these cheaper, flatpak new ones.

I have the luxury of having a good sized Victorian house
I remember sitting down on the sofa in my living room for the first time and noticing that the ceiling is higher than the room is wide.

gotta love high ceilings

hard to change lightbulbs, though

I can just reach the lightbulbs to change them if I stand on tiptoes with my arm outstretched

I love that. I am pretty tall, so I tend to feel pretty hemmed in with most modern housing.
First time I set foot in a flat converted from a Victorian townhouse, I fucking loved it.

they are saying its condensation
they worst bit is in the bedroom where it's kind of like a basement and you'd expect a bit, but it's upstairs too. Pile of shite
(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 9:58, Reply)
condensation isn't caused by having too much stuff

(, Tue 16 Aug 2011, 9:59, Reply)
Condensation is not caused by having too much stuff
or your windows closed. It's caused by having insufficient ventilation. Leaving the windows open will help but it'll be a security risk.
