I agree with youHowever, I'm also programmed to dislike Pardew, as he was likely part of the reason we paid £35 fucking million for Carroll. Don't get me wrong, I know he's a good player. But that price tag is ridiculous, and he has admitted that knowing that has affected him more than once.
I justify it to myself by pointing out we paid less than £7 million a year for him if he sees out his contract. It's delusional, I know, but it stops me from going foetal.

I honestly think that Pardew had nowt to do with it.Ashley and Lambias saw the opportunity for an inflated return on a virtually untested player and took it. Neither Carroll or Pardew had any say in the matter at all. A mate of Carroll's was on the local radio just after it happened and was reading out texts from him, and he patently did not want to go.
