Hey Dudes,
Are you in to Horror films? We have a weekly movie night at my place, and it's my turn to pick, I've gone for The Andromeda Strain for the Sci-fi fans, and The Rock, for a bit of action, but I reckon a good Horror movie to round off the night is the way to go. Any suggestions?

Alt: If you don't like horror films, what is your favourite film?

AltALt: go on then, tell me why films are shit and i should read books instead

I watched Paranormal Activity 3 reently
it wasn't very good. I also watched the Cabin in the Woods, which was okay, not as good as I was hoping though.

A film I saw called Grave Encounters was pretty good, it's a found footage film set in an old asylum and is a bit scary near the end.

Piranha 3DD is shit, though David Hasslehoff is quite funny in it.

I have a kindle and it's great. iBooks are often cheaper, so if you read enough then you've recouped the cost of the device after a while.

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:09, Reply)
That's fucking bollocks for starters
I've seen numerous instances where the kindle version of a book is more expensive than a print copy. The whole pricing system for kindle books is fucking stupid, it's like they have learned nothing from the decline in the music industry.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:10, Reply)
Depends on the book. New hardbacks are expensive as an iBook, a great deal of books are cheaper.
iBooks also attract VAT and save a hell of a lot of space too.

I still buy cookery books, they'd be shit on a Kindle.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:11, Reply)
whats wrong with just borrowing them from the library and photocopying them?

Paying a fiver for an e-book is a stupid pricing model which will only encourage piracy

Blame Apple.

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:14, Reply)
I don't blame anyone, I just pirate ebooks.

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:16, Reply)
Amazon and sony are doing a bunch of 20p books at the moment.
I'd happily pay a quid per book and if there was a decent selection, I'd buy a kindle immediatly.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:23, Reply)
Not into horror films
Andromeda strain - excellent choice! Silent running would be a good Sci Fi choice too.
Alt: The Dark Knight - purely for Heath Ledger's superb portrayal of the Joker.
Altalt: If you're going to read books, read everything ever written by William Gibson.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:04, Reply)
I like Gibson,
i like the Dark Knight, I like silent Running. We should be friends.

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:25, Reply)
Nice attempt to make you look above all this by referring to us as "kiddies".
I'm only concerned that if you really think we're kids that you will be off wanking over the thought of us getting raped and killing ourselves.

That's not cool.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:43, Reply)
You always refused to clarify how old she was, in fact you ran away from the thread and didn't engage it, despite everyone pointing out that you were a cunt
So it's quite possible that she was even younger. And you did make reference to laughing.

But yeah, other than that you're spot on.

You're also a lot more likely to get cancer than me what with you being overweight and a heavy drinker.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:30, Reply)
He went all Honda Accord at a school
where his kid was being bullied. The school banhammered the bully, who then killed herself. Placid laughed and crossed his arms and went "and THAT'S the way I roll, bitch".
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:24, Reply)
i remember that now,
i think i gave him shit for it at the time as well.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 12:27, Reply)
