Morning
Well I've been sat in bed reading the papers.
Guess I'd better get up.

What is everyone else doing this windy day?

Good morning
I am meant to be finishing off my project, preparing for my move back to England next week, and writing my story for this week's QOTW, but I'm spending most of my time installing software on my fancy new laptop.

@Leamington minibash people: Hope you have fun today.

I'll see if he's hunched over when he gets up though!

We're watching scrapheap challenge waiting for Kaol and TGB to drag their sorry arses over!

I am hungover :(
But nonetheless am planning to go out and enjoy an afternoon of loud music.

Have fun bashing, and bash on my behalf! :)

Ning.
I've already been to the shops and now I'm back home for an afternoon of sewing, guitar practice (sorry neigbours) and reading. Later, b3tans are coming to my house to get drunk and smoke indulge in some high-brow chatter about the world today.

Morning all
I've only just got out of bed. This medication is causing fatigue like I've never felt before.

*grumbles*

Think I'll do some reading and try and get somewhere with enrolling to one or more evening classes.

I'm having a day of rest
hopefully getting my hair cut and tidying as I've barely been here the last few weeks.

Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday - hope it was fun.

Good afternoon.
I was up at 6am and at the gym at 7am. I have done my tasks for the day and will try to do some drawing after dinner.

I think I shall stay home alone today as I have terrible smelly wind.

I blame it on the Resident Loons home-made pasta sauce that I had for dinner last night.

No problem at all me dear. My stupid brain for some reason insisted that you were one of the people who was going to be there, so I called you first to find out where everyone was. Was lovely and relaxing and I got to meet the gorgeous Lucy van Pelt.

Hello
The sun is shining, and I've been up since 10am - something of a record for me on a Sunday. And I've been shopping for tonight's dinner - roast chicken stuffed with garlic cloves and herbs; nestled in half a bottle of white whine, with sweet potatoes, carrots, curly kale and parsnips - all roasted as well*. Nom.

And I'm off out late this afternoon to watch Newcastle attempt to play football and drink beer, after getting Sweary Jr kitted out with a new winter coat and some football boots for school.

I feel so middle aged...

*Except for the curly kale - that would be silly.
(, Sun 5 Oct 2008, 13:18, Reply)
Oh DG,
dinner sounds lovely. What time are you expecting us?

Edit: Is it Newcastle who are attempting to play football and drink beer? Or is it just Tottenham who are playing like that (grumble, moan, whinge)?
(, Sun 5 Oct 2008, 13:25, Reply)
DG
You and me both - up at 7 to feed the spawn and attempt to prevent him destroying the place, feeding tea to the groaning irritable I-am-not-a-morning-person-hiding-under-duvet Monster, spending the entire morning up to armpits in Cillit Bang after last night's Seaweed Fireball...

Followed by cooking another meal for the hungry squad, I can finally get a shower and head into town to get Junior's glasses fixed.

Rock & Roll, Baby (for the over 30's).

Eds - I was wondering about the Kale, I admit. God, I'm sad.
(, Sun 5 Oct 2008, 13:25, Reply)

DG - That sounds like a cracking meal! I'm going for a pub dinner, I hope it's a nice one.

Thanks. Well, the job is based in London, it's just I'll be reporting to bosses in Dorset (if I get the job). With all due respect, I was never a "Dorset fan". I don't hate the place, but I never really liked it.

I have family in Cornwall, I spent summers there. Now that's a nice place! :O)

Didn't get the train back to Leeds til half four so had plenty time to sleep this morning.

Had a good weekend yourself?

I'm in Glasgow, Mrs Bin
So it would be a bit of a commute really.

I've done really very little BK. Went to a freshers fair yesterday (who cares if I'm in 4th year?), got lots of free stuff, but most of it crap, did a bit of shopping in town, came home, and wasted the rest of the weekend until now. Good times.

Enjoying free weekends before I can't put the work off any longer. Which will probably be tomorrow until April.

I've just been having a good read of the QOTW while listening to Simon and Garfunkel. Feeling rather soppy now. Grrrr.

I can't work out what my answer should be which is a shame. The only thing I can think of at the moment is something I did for somebody else and I'm not sure I can use that without feeling like I'm shouting "look at me I'm great"

How do you cut your hand on a guitar PoD?
(, Sun 5 Oct 2008, 23:12, Reply)
I went to pick it up
And my hand slipped across the head of the guitar, where the ends of strings are.

The sharp, dangerous, ends. The ones that can cut your hands open, and that I once managed to stick into my hand by about half a centimetre.

But it was only a deep scratch this time, no blood as such.
(, Sun 5 Oct 2008, 23:18, Reply)
What do you want to watch Flesh?
Mr Bin and I planned on watching a film but he's spent the last 3 hours cocking around with an external hard drive and now it's too late.
(, Sun 5 Oct 2008, 23:25, Reply)
wow
tape the ends up, use some electrical tape or something. I used to play bass in school with my mate's band, and that's what he did.

Edit - Mrs Bin. It's a wrestling PPV, but it depends on finding a feed in 90 minutes
(, Sun 5 Oct 2008, 23:25, Reply)
My bass is fine
Because the ends of the bass strings are inserted into the centre of the tuning pegs, and are therefore not dangerous.

I just haven't trimmed the ends of the strings on the acoustic enough, or at least not as much as I usually would, and hence the problems. There was a previous incident with a school guitar and the strings which wasn't fun either.

Also, I'm getting used to the touchpad and it's many gestures. I just have to make sure I don't accidentally click on a link I don't want to click on. Whilst taking a peek at /talk the other day, I partially violated my talk-cherry by clicking "I like this" on a /talk post.
