Well I've been sat in bed reading the papers.
Guess I'd better get up.
What is everyone else doing this windy day?

The sun is shining, and I've been up since 10am - something of a record for me on a Sunday. And I've been shopping for tonight's dinner - roast chicken stuffed with garlic cloves and herbs; nestled in half a bottle of white whine, with sweet potatoes, carrots, curly kale and parsnips - all roasted as well*. Nom.
And I'm off out late this afternoon to watch Newcastle attempt to play football and drink beer, after getting Sweary Jr kitted out with a new winter coat and some football boots for school.
I feel so middle aged...
*Except for the curly kale - that would be silly.

The sharp, dangerous, ends. The ones that can cut your hands open, and that I once managed to stick into my hand by about half a centimetre.

Because the ends of the bass strings are inserted into the centre of the tuning pegs, and are therefore not dangerous.
I just haven't trimmed the ends of the strings on the acoustic enough, or at least not as much as I usually would, and hence the problems. There was a previous incident with a school guitar and the strings which wasn't fun either.

Ah, I just remembered something I should be doing instead though... I've got loads of vids I took at the jam session today to upload.

is also plugged in (both by power and ethernet). I only got it last week and the screen is quite good, but I miss the 1600x1200 of my (much slower) desktop PC.
Also, I'm getting used to the touchpad and it's many gestures. I just have to make sure I don't accidentally click on a link I don't want to click on. Whilst taking a peek at /talk the other day, I partially violated my talk-cherry by clicking "I like this" on a /talk post.

This is my first wireless laptop and I too am sticking to wired for the time being. Did a scan of my neighbourhood and discovered two unsecured wifi hotspots in the area. Still haven't paid much thought to the ethics of unsecured wifi.

And I give thanks to them every time I use it!
I live so far out in the sticks there's no chance of ANY wireless networks, unsecured or not, regardless of whether I would use them...
