This weekend I have:
Been to the inlaws for dinner on Friday.
Watched a hamster die and then bury said hamster on Saturday.
Been shopping.
Washed dishes.
Cooked.
Washed dishes.
Drank lots of wine (and am about to start this again).
Been for walk with dog.
Tried and failed miserably (along with his mother) to get idiot stepson to see that his actions over the last few days are going to have serious and horrible repurcussions.

On top of that I thought about building the futon base that's been in our loft for over a year. Then I looked at the instructions and though 'fuck it, that'll take far too long to do'. Maybe next week.

Alt: like, guess

Not unusual.
When I was at school it was amazing the number of kids who lived in telly-free houses.

Depends on how middleclass the school was
The more middleclass the more people didn't have a TV. Vast majority still did though

It's harder to imagine telly-free houses these days.
Such (seems) to be the reliance on parents using CBeebies as a baby sitter.

its hard to imagine a house with less than two tvs nowadays

- Sent off my CV to loads of places
- Designed a new website, I'm really pleased with the design (I'll show you guys when I finish).
- Watched the car racing yesterday and today
- Saw that film "Four Lions" and LMAO'd (not litterally, but more than just 'lol').
- Ate nothing but indian food, I don't know why, it just kindda worked out that way.
- Upgraded my household. (this is what I'm most pleased with)
- Went to the pub for a bit, didn't drink, came up with the most awquard conversations I've ever done.
- Did a rant on the internet

Quite a good one !

Dude
Call your landlord tomorrow. It's getting cold out there. Do you have access to the boiler/thermostat? Check them. Maybe ask a neighbour/housemate?

You mentioned this the other day and it seemed super weird to me.
(, Sun 26 Sep 2010, 20:37, Reply)
That's all assuming you live in rented student accommodation
If it's your own house/flat then no heating is doubly weird.

We're renting a house
We found a thermostat, turned it on, but nothing's happened. Had a fiddle around with the radiators, shit all's happened. Give it a few more days until we start to ice over.

Step 1 turn the boiler on
(, Sun 26 Sep 2010, 20:44, Reply)
^this could well be the answer
although I assume it's on already and you don't shower with cold water???

Check the entire place for buttons and switches to do with the heating. there's got to be a way.

Boiler's on!

Step 2 rads and hot water should be on separate controls. Flick to on or constant.
Edit some thermostats aren't wired up properly / or have anything to do with the boiler.
(, Sun 26 Sep 2010, 20:49, Reply)
We've got a couple of controls in the hall that look like radiatory things.
A temperature control and just a gold box. The radiators don't have temperature controls, just wheels. I'll have a play around.
(, Sun 26 Sep 2010, 20:51, Reply)
Ensure thermostat is beyond 15 degrees you know the 'click'
The gold box I guess will be your controls for hot water / rads - just ensure everything is on constant. I assume your boiler has fired, so ensure all controls are set to constant on that as well.
(, Sun 26 Sep 2010, 20:57, Reply)
The boiler's fine
I've fiddled around with the temperature- as soon as I know it's on I'll adjust it.

It's not going to blow up, is it?!
(, Sun 26 Sep 2010, 21:00, Reply)
Unlikely, your only concern now should be carbon monoxide poisoning.
Request to see the latest yearly corgi. Dodgy landlords will save themselves £150 and not bother
(, Sun 26 Sep 2010, 21:06, Reply)
We have a detector in the same room as the boiler
My flatmate's best friend's flatmate (tenuous but close enough) went home in the uni holiday and died of CO poisoning at home.. So my flatmate's a little nervous.

The boiler was serviced before we moved in, we've been assured.

My hand maiming days are over.
Mainly because I sprained both of my wrists somewhat horribly giving Big Eric and his cellmate a 'downhill racer' during my spell inside at the taxpayer's expense. I still haven't recovered; the ganglions are horendous so I've called a halt to all medical practitionary for now.

Apparently just the airport
La TD has been out with her friend today in central Leeds and it was fine.

I've driven four 737's (Bradford-Airport)today in the rain.

Isn't there a guy in a HHGTTG book that gets followed around by rain? Maybe that's me.

See above
We're paying for this Airport (I assume you live in West Yorkshire) and it has it's very own micro-climate.

Yes, I live pretty much bang in the middle.
Ironically, it's the only bit that's impossible to get to by train.

It's been OK up here all weekend.
Up until about an hour ago, when it started pissing down.

Well I'm sure I'm happy for you all.
The Airport Stazi get cross when we have a smoke next to the bus-stops so I've had four smoke breaks in the rain at the Airport.

I'm on 15's for the rest of the week so I can just get my nicotine fix second hand from the polyester shellsuits getting aboard.

Huge male appendage
Ive spent my weekend carving a huge male appendage out of stone for someone.
Its 2 feet high and quite frankly bloody scary
