Only 9.5degC inside the office. I'm still wearing my coat and scarf, and considering to put my gloves on again, as my fingers can't feel anything anymore.
I'm tired, moody, stressed and really, really cold.
How are you today? Did you have a good weekend?
EDIT: And it seems nobody is here, so I'm quite bored too.
NEWS UPDATE: 11degC now.

It's snowy outside, and I have about a million things on my to-do list today.
I finally managed to actually write my talk at the weekend. Mostly anyway. Now I just have to do things like pack, and practice the talk.

I'm actually feeling quite chirpy despite the weather. Possibly because I have the day off.
Had three and a bit days on the Algarve Thursday to Sunday for a mate's fortieth, I even went paddling in the sea on Thursday!
While texting my co-workers about it MWUAHAHAHA. I didn't want to come back...
Mind you, no internet took some getting used to. *insert "we wish you'd stayed too" here*

The only thing that is keeping me here is the knowledge that I'm on holidays in 2 days. I can't wait to go somewhere warm.
I'll make sure I send messages to you from time to time to remind you of how much fun I'm having :)

As noted below my weekend was boring as fuck. Almost painful. Got texts and calls off two people I really like and haven't spoken to in a while though, so not all bad. I don't get texts off anyone usually, except Roota when she has a magic poo. Long story.
(, Mon 29 Nov 2010, 8:46, Reply)
but I hate it even more when it's indoors, and I'm sitting all day. This is stupid. Just reached 10.3 now... maybe it'll be warm by tomorrow.
I'm glad I don't receive texts from Roota, I think.

Agree with you there, can't stand it. Our heating is beyond mental (and free) though so we absolutely cane it. It's -3 outside and last night it was so hot in here we had to open all the windows.
I love when it's cold outside because it means I get to be a tart and choose one of my huge coats that never normally sees the light of day to wear.
(, Mon 29 Nov 2010, 9:00, Reply)
I don't know who chooses the temperature, but he's stupid. The radiators feel like if they were in "anti-freeze" mode. This is a nightmare.
At least, it's not only me complaining today. Everybody's wearing hats, coats and gloves. Brrrrrr
I much prefer summer clothes, then you can just put a skirt and t-shirt and be ready in 2 min. Here you need 10min just to put all the warm clothes on top of the normal ones.
(, Mon 29 Nov 2010, 9:09, Reply)
For guys you can wear jeans/chinos/shorts and a t-shirt/polo shirt. Everyone looks the same. During the winter I can distance myself from all the knobs.

I'll tell you how sam and i nearly ruined my friend's wedding on sat.
So a few weeks ago i met a personal trainer in a bar. Hot but turned out to be married and dumb as a box of rocks. The latter has been proven by the fact that he keeps emailing me suggestive filth despite being totally ignored by me. Even if had been tempted before, the shockingly spelled messages full of u r and lulz would have put me off. Anyway on fri night i had enough and replied, telling him tersely to piss off, i did know what i was missing and i was fine with that. Turns out i didn't.
Sat afternoon. Wedding. Bar. We're all hammered before the ceremony and my phone beeps with a new emailk nmessage. The guy has only gone and emailed me a pic of his cock, with a note about exactly what i am missing. This is gross in itself, but - i don't think he could have appreciated that my iphone was going to pick it up quite so clearly. It was... Diseased, is the only word for it. I was so shocked that i dropped the phone before i caught something from the pic, and of course within about two seconds it was being passed around all my friends. They all screamed and i deleted it and then it was time to go in. But my friend sam hadn't said anything, and i could tell her brain was hatching something. Sure enough she picked the exact second the string quartet paused to break into the wedding march to hiss a v good question: "but WHY would anyone email you a pic of their herpes-infested dick?"
We all dissolved into hysterics and couldn't stop when the bride swept in, which was awful of usd. Esp when she came up to us afterwards and said "you guys all saw me trip on ther way in didn't you, i hoped noone had noticed."
Oh dear. Mind you, my friend's husband asked me where the guy had got the pic from - now that's innocent!

I'm not in the best of moods (what's new?) as I know I'm going to have to work like an ancient Hebrew slave this week. Combine this with the fact that I missed (what sounds like) a good bash last night for the sake of a shambolic and not-very-well-paid gig and coming the closest I ever have to telling a beggar to fuck off, and I really can think of a lot of places I'd rather be at the moment.
But hey, at least I didn't have to catch the tube or bus into work today. Some small mercy, I guess.

She does sound like she works off the same template as the beggars in Brussels - every beggar I passed seemed to be a woman in a shawl carrying a baby and a paper coffee cup with some coins in it. I honestly thought it was the same woman drifting round the city until I turned one corner and bumped into about three or four of them waving their paper cups at me. Do the Belgians offer a standard issue "begging kit" replete with shawls, babies and paper cups?

he didn't reject half a pizza because it had pinneaple.
The other day in Madrid, a guy was asking for 1 euro to take the bus, and I didn't want to give him because he was really drunk. Then, I saw him askin, begging the bus driver to let him in and go home, as he didn't have any way to go, and please, it was cold on the street and a long walk to get there. So I got on the bus, gave the driver a euro and told him to give a ticket to the guy. Go out of the bus, walk a couple of steps, see the bus going past me, and then I hear the guy, back on the street, shouting at the driver for not letting him go home! The bastard driver! And he kept my euro too!

a little miffed at how much effort had gone in for how little money and burdened with a bass in one hand and an amp in the other, I was not really in the mood to be accosted by some guy in a wheelchair asking if I could spare any change. Normally, I find, when you explain to them that no, sorry, you don't have any, they go away. This one looked at me in an earnest and slightly affronted fashion and said,
"It does come back on you, you know."
I beg your pardon? You asked me if I could spare any change, not whether I wanted an accompanying lecture on morality and fucking karma. Couple that with the arrogance with which you present your case for why you have an automatic entitlement to a cut of the money I worked for and, wheelchair or not, you're asking for a smack in the fucking mouth.

Went to my gran's 90th birthday this weekend, and met up with cousins I haven't seen in far too long.
It was all going swimmingly, we'd buggered off to the pub to leave the parents at the house, and proceeded to get nicely tipsy. Conversation turned to relationships/exes, and after talking about my ex I turned to my youngest cousin (she's 23) and said "You've just broken up with your fella haven't you, did it go ok?". She paused, looked like she was about to cry, and took off out the pub...
