# It might have been an access way under the water, that's normally visible when the tide is low.
TJ: I was just given a box full of bottles of snuff. My family wants to sell them on a carboot as some of themare quite old.

Does anyone know if it's legal to sell them, seeing as they are techincally a tobacco product?

Edit:: Thank you everyone. I don't think they are collectable, but I'll take a gander.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:06, archived)
# snuff rules
ever had any?

I've amassed quite a collection. It is legal in the uk but i'm not sure about 2nd hand tobacco of any kind.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:08, archived)
# sould be fine to bootsale em, altho look them up on ebay as snuff bottles are collectable, it might be a cae of just empting the stuff out and just sell the bottles online
might be really rare.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:09, archived)
# noooo, never remove the snuff or any seals.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:10, archived)
# well it might be worth it, because bootsales are full of tight twats and if they are worth anything ebay probably will pull them if they were full of snuff
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:12, archived)
# No, I meant always leave things intact if they are as they will fetch a higher value and never sell them at a boot.
There are specialist collectors. Probably the best bet would be to get advice from a good tobacconist.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:14, archived)
# true, but if they are worth money for say the bottles, chances are the snuff will be pretty rank by now..
antiques dealers wouldn't give you much and then you'd have to find who knew about snuff bottles before they'd even give you anything close to a decent price, bootsales, same problem really, an auction would work and then you wouldn't have to remove the snuff, but eaby is best, wider audience..etc but then you probably would have to get rid of the snuff because ebay are cunts and don't allow anything to be sold on there.

but they might be absolutely worthless.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:19, archived)
# check out some snuff forums
they do exist!

Keep it all intact i say
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:25, archived)
# fact it's full of manky old snuff isn't a great selling point
and more of then than not would make zero difference to price as people ocllect things like snff boxes and not snuff.

and snuff forums..sounds a bit dodgy.

# I've seen antique unopened packets of cigars on eBay before.
Definitely don't clean them out.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:38, archived)
# I'd go with that, no point in emptying them.
If they don't want the snuff, they can throw it out themselves. And if they do, they might pay extra.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 16:41, archived)
# well it is

seriously, you are gonna get ripped off at a boot sale.
Snuff is a tobacco product but does not come under the same laws as smokable products. You should be fine.
