Radiohead's Thom Yorke is the nation's most mysterious, charismatic pop star. He's also devilishly handsome, and ripe for photo-shopping. So that's the challenge.
This challenge is a Challenge Dictator challenge.

everyone turned the LHC into a bandwagon of shit. Just weird physics entries would have worked.

to be fair, it might work...but knowing people, it'll just be shit with a couple of gems.

The board has been full of LHC pics over the past week anyway
and although dinosaurs may be fun, I am willing to bet most entries would be the same two or three jokes based around the first page of a google image search for 'dinosaur'.
There are no shit challenges, only shit entries. I guess it's just easier to moan about the subject than put any effort into making funny pictures.
It's as much fault of the challenge than of the entries - one that doesn't seem to require much imagination won't seem to require much effort, either.
And it wouldn't necessarily just be about the LHC, as AW just said "Just weird physics entries would have worked." And it's contemporary, which is always fun to look back on.
why do people feel limited, photoshop Thom Yorke could mean draw a picture of a giant pea wanking off in to a nun's open cassock while the ghost of Thom Yorke looks disapprovingly on.
If the challenge doesn't SEEM to require much imagination (a challenge about Thom Yorke would really provoke the obvious - his eye, I expect), it's not very likely that it will.
seems to provoke the obvious to me too - lots of pics of people in lab coats being sucked into black holes.
'Shit' challenges always produce good pics and 'good' challenges always produce shit pics. It's all down to whoever is making them.
If you are really worried about this challenge being shit, why not make it better by creating a series of fantastic pictures and jokes? You can even have Thom Yorke being sucked into a black hole in Switzerland if you like.
Apart from black holes, strangelets, and the return of the antichrist to Earth, what awesome physics side-effects will the LHC create when it's switched on at the same time this week's compo goes live?
it's that people never bother reading the instructions for the challenge.
It would be a week of shitty black hole, strangelet and anti-christ jokes, coupled with something sublime from Monkeon that nobody else would ever have thought of.

I think I've heard the name before
but I don't even recognise this so called famous musician/pop star/whatever.
I thought it might be the really posh one out of Blur but I have been informed he was actually in Radiohead. The only people I know who listened to Radiohead were three of my geeky friends who never ever managed to get laid, apart from one who looked like a fat Mr Bean who always had strange LT girlfriends.
oh good, I've got a lot on at the moment, glad there isn't a decent image challenge to take part in
;) (only kidding Mr F, although I am a bit busy so won't jump in both feet first, although I can pee thusly........) (not compo'd 'cos its not photoshopped - obviously!)
