The Hood-Butter's Music Bash This Saturday

Address for the bash
7 Millfield Place
Wilburton
Ely
Cambridgeshire
CB6 3SA

Call 07768 000 265 if you get lost or need picking up.

JUST 1 DAY some hours TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
.

.
The Captain and Lady Hood-Butter welcome will tolerate all most b3tans to a unique music bash on 30th September 2006 from 3pm in the afternoon at our home and recording studios near between Cambridge & Ely, just orf the A10. (Near Soham)

All musicians welcome and non-musicians too. There will be something for everyone. The idea is that, apart from a jolly good bash with all teh boozes and lots of curry and other foods, we will write, perform, 'record and produce a b3ta song where everyone who comes will be credited. This will not be a half arsed affair, oh no. A fully produced single will be made and everyone will get a copy on CD to take home to use as a coaster. Graphic designers can use the editing suite to produce the sleeve design and the CD will have a fixed on-body print too. We have 5 on-line machines and a good quality video camera, so you could get involved in that way, keeping the rest of b3ta amused with updates throughout the day.
There will be a part for everyone to play, and everyone will get a credit. The song should contain all the usual references to b3ta and contain lots of sweary goodness but we will be attempting to make it a good quality production at the same time as having a laugh.

Musicians: If you wish to bring an instrument, please e-mail us, as we may well have something here you can use to save you bringing it. All you need bring is some booze although we will be laying some on too, so if you are skint, don't worry, you're still welcome.

We can arrange lifts from and back to Ely Railway Station if required and if you would like to crash out afterwads, bring your sleeping bags etc. A nice greasy fry up will be served on Sunday morning, shortly before we release the dogs and have you all thrown into the street.

This is what we have got (Technical bit)
Tesco Value 24 track digital recording. 10 Tesco Value keyboards, loads of Tesco Value modules, 2 Tesco Value drum kits, 2 Tesco Value bass guitars and a Tesco Value Trace Elliot 4X10, a Tesco Value Ashdown 1X15 and a Tesco Value Orange 1X15. Some Tesco Value guitars, and around 4 or 5 Tesco Value amps. Loads of Tesco Value Percussion stuff with extra Clubcard points, and enough mics to record a fucking choir

If the weather is fine there is a large barbeque area in the garden and Mrs HB has promised another of her amazing bum cakes.

STOP PRESS:
Lots of interesting Russian boozes too!

Mrs HB has just got loads of percussion stuff.
Cursor over the words 'bum cakes'

STOP PRESS:
Let us know if you need picking up from the Rail Station. Ely is closest.
We will open this mobile number on the day before. 07768 000 265.

Lots of interesting Russian boozes too!

Just in:
Feedback from past participants in the hillarious game of Hello! What's in that hole?

"I laughed until I stopped" Brian Armchair (Mrs)
"Ha ha ha. The last one was still warm"
Wilmer Wideon (Ret)
"I laughed my cunt off"
Carol Vorderman
"It felt like they'd cracked off a fackin' whale in there." Brian Sewel

Cooked breakfast on Sunday morning and lifts back to the Railway/Bus stations if required.

Plenty of space for camping should you prefer it to floor space.

Please leave all drinks, food and fags outside the studio door.

Well I'm not going to get out of this one am I?

Email either the Euro.gigs address or [email protected] to let us know when you will be getting in to the station (either Cambridge or Ely) and we can come and collect you.

Sleeping spaces:
One double bed to be booked in advance (I don't want unseemly scuffles)
3 x not quite 3-seater sofas
3 x blow up beds (H-B will rig them specially for you)
Plenty of garden space for tents
1 x single mattress in Vintage's room
2 x single mattresses
Please bring own sleeping bags or quilts. We have a few but there may be a cold snap coming on.

Local B & Bs here tourism.eastcambs.gov.uk/html/accomlist.asp?L1=10&L2=13
Wilburton, Haddenham, Stretham, Ely all close.

Smaller instuments from ebay:
tambourine, triangle, swannee whistle, twist drum, penny whistle, ukulele, bongos, harmonica and maraccas.

Me and WW may attend this madam, it may depend if I have to swap shifts or not

If I can't make it I shall try and arrange t for WW to come anyway.

I may also dust off my songwriting skilz and write something for said occasion.

I'm currently thinking of an 'updated' rewrite of the tradional song 'The Cuckoo's Nest'..

/edit - OR we could record the definitive version of the Nanny Ogg classic 'The Hedgehog Can Nver Be Buggered At All'?

//edit - if anyone wants a lift from around the West Suffolk/Colchester/Bury St Edmunds aree I can prb manage that too.

Ooh yes, sounds good

Does anyone sing?

(, Mon 28 Aug 2006, 20:35, Reply)
Er..

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 13:16, Reply)
Yay

Chief singist then.

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 19:36, Reply)
Oh dear

I'm hoping there are some other people singing with me!

(, Wed 30 Aug 2006, 17:28, Reply)
I'm not bad on harmonies.

Well...I sound alright in the car singing along to the Wildhearts.

(, Fri 1 Sep 2006, 13:08, Reply)
That'll do

I'm the front man in a (performance art) band

Can I have a saxophone?

(, Mon 4 Sep 2006, 15:25, Reply)
I do not have a saxamaphone :(

You can bring one if you want, I do have a saxamaphone mic though. If you can't bring one we will find you something else to blow ;)

(, Wed 6 Sep 2006, 9:52, Reply)
I own one

and could be persuaded to bring it but it's in need of a bit of TLC and new reeds.

I discovered on Saturday that I am a hige fan of karaoke, so no one let me anywhere near a) any red wine or b) a microphone!

(, Mon 18 Sep 2006, 22:27, Reply)
I'm afraid we have abundant supplies of both

Therefore we can presumably expect drunken renditions of various popular classics?

(, Tue 19 Sep 2006, 13:18, Reply)
Apparently my Enter Sandman was special.

I thought my Baggy Trousers was by far superior.

I'll have a go

Our attendance will be dependent on wether I can swap my shifts.

I hope so.

T'will be good to see you both.

I see a choir forming here. Oh the sweet sweet sound of a b3ta choir!

(, Wed 6 Sep 2006, 9:53, Reply)
One of my favourites

Do you know the words then or are we going to be making them definitive?

(, Sun 10 Sep 2006, 21:43, Reply)
I'm planning on writing a DEFINITVE version...

...or at least doing a chorus and getting people to chip in with verses.

(, Wed 13 Sep 2006, 0:16, Reply)
There are no official words

but many many versions.

I think everyone can chip in, and make it crude enough. Badger has been thinking of many rhymes for 'ocelot'

WE'RE DEFINITELY COMING.

Yes.

A Pearl Export pro and a Tama studio kit

Excellent.

And can I push the bass drums together for some blast beats? PLEASE?

(, Mon 28 Aug 2006, 11:42, Reply)
Pffft!

'blast beats' you just want 'em close together so that your legs'll reach both of em shortarse.

And a Doncaster bash the day before... a b3ta weekend awaits oh my I will enjoy this.

::EDIT::

For those Northerners going to the Donny bash the day before, much like myself, there is crash space before we head down.

::EDIT THE 2ND::

Crash space please? Or, if you have a sizeable garden, I could bring my tent :).

::EDIT THE 3RD::

I shall bring a crumble of some description I think... I make the nicest crumbles ever!

We have a large Marshall

and some smaller BC Rich amps that can be miked up so you will be OK. I'll check with the Captn to make sure though.

By the way, anyone from London who plans to stay overnight can get a lift back with Hood-Butter on Sunday afternoon as he goes to work then.
/edit Sorry he's taking the Sunday off to help me cope with the inevitable debris and clean-up operation and body search from the far reaches of the garden.

It would be rude of me to refuse

I'm a mediocre bassist, so I'll have a crack at that if you like?

I need to get out this weekend, as it's when everyone else moves into our house and I don't want to be forced into carrying big heavy boxes.

(, Tue 5 Sep 2006, 13:12, Reply)
We have three basses.

Take you pick.
PLEASE NOTE: The ceiling in the studio is a little low.

EDIT: I just noticed I did a little funny there. Take your pick. Pfft. No? Plectrum? No? Arse! never mind...... Have visitors been yet?
