This Netherlander fellah's been living by Donegal for years now, so his accent is amusingly messed up - but he's a lovely bloke, and films some informative and entertaining survival and nature stuff.
I posted his "Celtic Roundhouse" build a while back - it's finished now, but he's not yet living there like he planned.
Anyway, this is all about how the European Conservation Areas are stunning and important, and still being fucked over by shitheads - but there's always a bit of hope if you work on it.

It's the massive scale of deforestation and mafia involvement that's scary.

Sibrel (the fat asshole) tricked them into interviews using false pretences.
For example, he got Armstrong to visit a hotel for "an interview on space for a Japanese children's television show".[1]
He hassled Buzz Aldrin, who famously lamped him.
He really is a colossal shit.

My first thought was to reverse the swearing ritual and see what occurs, then again it wouldn't mean much.

He doesn't believe that he went to the moon, yet he is asking him to swear on the Bible. Does he believe that the Bible is real?

Garth Marenghi: ‘Many writers cite me as an influence ... and I will be suing them all’

( , Sat 29 Oct 2022, 13:11, Reply)

Personally I thought Darkplace was just bad.
( , Sat 29 Oct 2022, 17:47, Reply)

The character was just annoying. Unlikeable characters need some tiny redeeming feature to work: Basil Fawlty was pitiable because of Sybil and it worked, c.f. Jake Peralta.
I don’t dislike the “intentionally corny” style; Danger 5 was fucking brilliant.
( , Sat 29 Oct 2022, 19:53, Reply)

The smug smarm of Marenghi and his know-all fantasy bullshit I think is brilliant. I might actually read this book as I can hear the voice. I read the Partridge book. It was good fun. I could hear his voice when I read that too.

About eight hours into the book we were driving through the complete middle of no where. It was the bit where he shoots someone live on tv and she stops the van and bursts out "this is just fucking ridiculous!".
I realised i hadn't told her it was a fictional autobiography.
She'd sat through the bit where he has a nosebleed "drip, drip, drip etc" and all the rest without saying a word.

But I do love D5, and I'm aware others don't....
It's all so subjective....

Never heard of it. My relationship with Aussie humour is more than strained, but D5 is rather good. Tav

But at the same time I'm pissed off that Steam refused my refund request; a game that cost that much should last longer than three hours. It is beautiful in its own way but it's definitely not a proper game. ZP is right to say that Scorn is essentially a walk through a few pages of concept art.
I'm not saying that it's all bad, just that you should wait for it to hit the £5 mark before you buy it.
( , Sat 29 Oct 2022, 7:39, Reply)

that this was going to be a well-produced, but cynical and disappointing cash-grab. much the same feeling i had watching the fallout 76 trailer three years ago, in fact.
agony wasn't very well received (and at least has the decency to be priced accordingly), but it had an undeniable diabolical allure which necrophagic coat-tails i think ebb software knew they could ride.
yahtzee's inevitable hyperbole notwithstanding, i think he's on the money here, and i won't be parting with mine until it's under a fiver.

And all respect to ZP, but the art is just as much Bekinski as Giger.
( , Sat 29 Oct 2022, 18:36, Reply)

it's a shame then, that after 8 years in development, one brief pre-launch gameplay video was enough to convince me that it wouldn't be much cop.
( , Sat 29 Oct 2022, 21:43, Reply)

It was pretty obvious (I think I even said as much) that there was hardly any change from one trailer to the next.

North Somerset 'gimp' sightings: Teen describes freaky encounter

let me help. *clears throat*
you and a mate saw a pervert, most likely with mental problems, in a gimp suit. He was out and about at night in a gimp suit doing weird shit because he is a pervert with mental problems, and probably hoped that doing his weird pervert shit at night would allow him to remain anonymous like it used to in the golden years of flashers, forgetting that now every fucker has a smartphone and can take snaps and call the plod at any time

There are a couple of new videos up on the EXP TV website:
- Songs You Can See: Monster Movies (this was briefly available last Halloween)
- Plants Are People Too
I'm not posting direct links to the videos, as someone from EXP TV recently requested that I take down the page that I had made linking to them, as it was appearing quite high up in search results for EXP TV and compromising their artistic intent, which I was happy to comply with, so you'll have to figure out how to watch them yourselves...
( , Fri 28 Oct 2022, 17:48, Reply)

but I clicked on Plants are People and nothing happened.
( , Fri 28 Oct 2022, 19:12, Reply)

EXP TV harks back to the days of broadcast TV, where you have to tune in at a certain time on a certain day to watch a particular programme.
The video that plays on their website when you visit it depends on the day and time where you are (they're not actually live streamed). That's why they asked me to take my web page down.
You can try temporarily changing the date/time on your device to watch a specific video, or, if you understand how websites are built, look through the code to find the links to the individual videos (which is what I did).

( , Fri 28 Oct 2022, 19:33, Reply)

I mentioned that to them and they said they're looking to do something about that.
In the meantime, I've still got a watch set up on a particular file on their website that informs me when new videos have been added, and I'm happy to keep letting you lot know, even if I can't really provide direct links to them any more...
( , Fri 28 Oct 2022, 19:37, Reply)

the page I made still exists, but under a different filename...I've updated it and password-protected it...if anyone wants the link & login details, gaz me...

for example, the 'Plants are People too" video is in a file called PLANTS.mp4 which is in a sub-directory 'content2' so you just need to append content2/PLANTS.mp4 to the website address and voila.
