Moon Monkey says: Turn into Jeremy Clarkson for a moment, and tell us about the things that are so obviously wrong with the world, and how they should be fixed. Extra points for ludicrous over-simplification, blatant mis-representation, and humourous knob-gags.

So why do they sell fags in packs of ten? My view is that buying packs of ten, you are a student or in some other low income bracket so ciggies should not be on your shopping list any more than caviar is in mine. So ban packs of 10 so people on benefits etc are priced out of the market. The savings to the NHS alone would offset the tax lost through sales. Simples!

Not the smoothest of smokes, but did the trick.

It hasn't had any effect on the overall total of cigarettes sold.

we'll have to ban them too

It'll be illegal to sell brandy in bottles smaller than a gallon, jaffa cakes less than a wheelbarrow load etc. pizzas smaller than 2.3m across will be banned. Brilliant.

If you are sitting on your arse all day watching Mr Kyle and his assortment of interesting guests on working peoples tax contributions, then why should you be allowed Brandy or Jaffa Cakes or fags? In fact, why the fuck do you have a telly? Scrap my first idea....
Telly is a luxury, not a human right....
Make the license fee twice the cost so the workshy are priced out of the market, etc.....
Simples.

I'm not workshy, well, not in the unemployed sense anyway. But if the tv licence cost twice as much then I'd probably scrap it and actually get stuff done in the evenings rather than sitting on my arse half watching some bollocks whilst scratching my bollocks.

you could get packs of Peter Jackson 15's. And then some parents lobby thingy got all up in arms over the fact that at about $1.50 school kiddies were buying and smoking them, so they got banned.
Pity really 'cause they fitted perfectly into the top pocket of my school blazer.

With smokers contributing most of what they pay for a pack or cigarettes to the NHS anyhow? Heavy smokers will likely live shorter lives too -- so they won't be taking pensions either.
