I've got a real spring in my step today.
Just thought I'd share that.

How are you feeling today?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:37, 166 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I'm working a thoroughly depressing case
So not too chipper.

Fucking fantastic, thank you, JTDF.

I feel physically bad
But mentally pretty good - I'm having a very successful day in the office.

Even though I feel scratchy, hot, cold, tired and impatient.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:44, Reply)
I'm hungry
But aside from that I'm in a pretty good mood. Had a fantastically hot shower this morning, so that made me pretty happy, and I got to spend an extra 20 minutes in bed.

Is Crufts in town again or something?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:46, Reply)
Sadly not.

Mildly hung over, also cross.
So you can fuck off.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:48, Reply)
Not bad considering
I had to remove the entire contents of the living room last night, remove the carpet from there and the bathroom and then paint the entire bathroom. I ache all over but feel strangely smug about it. Interviewing for a new post here today which may taint my mood somewhat but at least I have brought my lunch (unlike yesterday)
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:50, Reply)
had about 15 emails saying how brilliant my scary presentation was last night
and i didn't even have to send any of them to myself. so this has cheered me right up.

my boss bollocked me for texting too much at work. this has depressed me right back down...
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:51, Reply)
Can't you just text people when you go and get your lunch?
Rather than spending your working day texting?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:56, Reply)
i don't do lunch these days
new years resolution and all that...

vipros..... don't make me tell you to cock off....... neither of us wants that......

b3th - no, stupid security...
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:06, Reply)
So is your phone buzzing away with people texting you
and are you getting all anxious that you can't reply?

The torture.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:07, Reply)
Is there a meal you actually do eat?
I'm sure you said you rarely ate breakfast or dinner, and now no lunch either?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:22, Reply)
I reckon Swipe is really a camel.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:27, Reply)
i am forcing myself to have a cereal bar (alpen light are good, 70 cals and they have fudge in them)
for breakfast and fresh orange or grape juice every day.

then either lunch or dinner, not both. and the gym. lots of gym.

tonight is the amazing greek place, so it is worth skipping lunch for, hell yeah.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:31, Reply)
do you actually do any work
between being on here and texting?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:58, Reply)
well done
and have you thought of using your phone to email clients? Then if he catches you, just say you're working.

Or tell him to cock off, cos your presentation ROCKED!
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:59, Reply)
I feel like you know when you've just hit a golf ball in that sweet spot or made perfect popcorn and maybe accidentally took the lid off a little early so a few popped and shot across the kitchen and made a small orphan laugh in times of sorrow
or you managed to get that juggle throw just right or you remembered what an Asus6 feels like without having to look it up or you booked a big exciting trip or someone buys you a book that means something to both of you but no-one else knows why you're grinning like an idiot or when you get that marinade just right or a repeat of an old episode of Cops you recognise comes on the TV just when you were about to go to bed or when you jump in icy puddles and they make that satisfying crunchy sound or when you're lying on your back on the side of a hill and the sun's shining but the sky is full of little puffy clouds and you see a little baby Hitler shape in the cotton-wool sky.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:55, Reply)
I'm shit at golf, burn popcorn, can't juggle
Asus make computers, I rarely read, can't cook, don't watch tv and it's grey outside.
Am in the midst of planning canyoning and a bungee jump in Scotland though, and stomping on icy puddles is always fun.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:55, Reply)
At the risk of making myself sound more spack-handed than I am
if I can juggle, then anyone can.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:55, Reply)
I can't
following my hideous juggling accident of '00
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:56, Reply)
This is why I never juggle sharpened flaming cocks.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:57, Reply)
I was juggling balls
just got the hang of it and I smacked my elbow on the corner of an overhead kitchen cupboard. Left a triangular dent about 5mm deep in my elbow between bones.

Must have hit a nerve or something because it hurt like a bitch and my hand was spasming about the place.

Not juggled since.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:00, Reply)
Balls, eh?

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:01, Reply)
predictable, eh?

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:02, Reply)
I've tried for a total of about 5 minutes over my whole life
It's not something I'm that bothered about though. I'm really struggling to find anything I'm motivated to do, which is very annoying.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:57, Reply)
I have no idea how you can be so awesome yet so horribly shit at the same time.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:57, Reply)
A surprising compliment, cheers!
I'm good at other things though, such as sniping in FPS games, sword fighting and, erm, having awesome hair.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:59, Reply)
I'm a sniper too.
I'd much rather be camped in some clever overlook with one bullet and my crosshairs on a mark 800m away than charging through crossfire loosing a thousand rounds per minute.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:01, Reply)
Damn right!
Though I'm going airsofting next month, and sniping with air rifles is only slightly more effective than sniping with a shuttlecock and badminton racket.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:02, Reply)
I've not heard of that before, sounds good.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:06, Reply)
Going to a site down south
Here with some friends who are in to it. They went to a 200 player event in a MOD training village site in Wales once, and people had vehicle mounted BB miniguns! Some people spent multiple thousands of pounds on kit...
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:08, Reply)
I'm sure your mates have you sorted for kit, but if you want to borrow any of my gear give me a shout.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:13, Reply)
Have you got a vehicle-mounted minigun?
If so, I'm in.

Not yet, sadly.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:18, Reply)
Sweet, cheers!
I'm buying a face mask and knee pads, but probably loaning a shop AK47.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:14, Reply)
face mask? knee pads?
surely all you need is some camo trousers, no shirt and a headband?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:21, Reply)
This is no place for your sordid fantasies.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:22, Reply)

There's a chance he'd blind the opposition at close range I suppose, but it's not like he'd be able to hide anywhere.

/pot kettle blah blah blah
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:24, Reply)
Normally, yes
But having done paintball topless once, I think I'll stick to a bit of comfort.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:24, Reply)
It's basically paintballing without the paint, yes?

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:21, Reply)
Hurts less per hit, but you get hit a lot more.
Because BBs are much, much cheaper than paintballs.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:22, Reply)
I'd love to have a go
between us a few friends and I had a collection of pistols and a shotgun and used to have gunfights occasionally.

I've lost my Beretta somewhere though :-(

I assume you use the gas powered ones for this though?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:24, Reply)
Electric almost always

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:25, Reply)
my experience of the electric ones is that they were much weaker and therefore less accurate
might just have been a cheapy one though

My spring powered pistol hurt like a bitch if you got shot with it.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:26, Reply)
These guns start at 100 quid minimum usually
I had a spring Glock 17 (same model as used in the Arizona shootings, fact fans) that also hurt like hell if you got hit by it, but it's range wasn't too hot.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:28, Reply)
that will explain it.
I'm remembering all the fun times I had with my pistol now and wishing not only that I still had it, but that I was going with you to shoot the shit out of people.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:30, Reply)
Well one day ye, me, Wookie and Noel will have to go along to one

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:31, Reply)
I would love the opportunity to shoot all 3 of you

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:33, Reply)
I am in.

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:35, Reply)
My electric MP5 fires at about 315fps.
That'll give you a hickey if it hits exposed skin, take out a tooth at close range if you're unlucky. A friend has a spring powered rifle that fires at about 430fps but he's not allowed to shoot it at anyone closer than 10 metres.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:29, Reply)
nice

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:30, Reply)
The tooth thing is why I'm buying a full face mask
Rather than just wearing goggles.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:32, Reply)
Will you bandaging your nipples as well,
or are they ok now?
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:35, Reply)
They're ok now
Thanks for asking.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:36, Reply)
Electric is the way to go if you want full auto - SMGs, assault rifles, heavy machine guns and the like.
Gas for the shinier pistols, springs for sniper rifles and shotguns.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:27, Reply)
Gas blowback full auto assault rifles are a thing of beauty
The sound they make is awesome
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:51, Reply)
A mate has a ridiculous RPK
which he has deliberately fucked up slightly so that it makes a terrifying amount of noise.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 12:01, Reply)
Oooh, does it have a silencer with the end cap taken off?

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 12:35, Reply)
Plus the guns tend to be fully automatic
Or at least capable of it.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:24, Reply)
So it should be called 'balling'?

(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:23, Reply)
Shop gun might be your best bet because they'll replace it if it breaks,
saves you sitting out for an hour and fiddling with screwdrivers and shit. I've got a BDU, holsters etc though. And a massive helmet, naturally.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:21, Reply)
I've seen your massive shiny helmet
I have camo gear, plus a combat vest already but cheers!
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:26, Reply)
Word to the wise,
try and blag some extra mags if you're renting. Especially if the rules involve any attempt at realism.

I'll try to do just that

This has made me feel tired and a bit sick, and melancholy, and has lead to me being more than usually bothered by things.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 10:59, Reply)
Right with you there brother
I'm not sure if my shattered sleep patterns is causing, caused by or merely correlating with my unusually and infuriatingly low mood.
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:00, Reply)
lack of sleep does make you more prone to feeling down about things
currently I'm all "shit, if my company continues to lose money this year I might lose my job, this will severely impact my ability to get married and to keep my house"
(, Tue 11 Jan 2011, 11:02, Reply)
