I'm being dragged to Shoreditch in forty minutes.
There is nowhere I want to go less. That's a bit unfair on Shoreditch actually, I don't want to go anywhere equally.

Out tomorrow night with friends.
One of whom is a very large and very stereotypical American Jewish lady. We're going to a quiet pub; it may not end well. On Sunday I shall probably go to the pub to watch the football.

Had a meeting with my manager, we have one every 3 months, but this is an interlude to a yearly review, as I started oct last year.
Normally the company director is there, but not this time, but we'll have another one with him on monday. About 15 minutes before I was due to go in, my smoking crew asked if I wanted to go for one and for about 30 seconds I was going "ermmm errrr eermmm" and my manager laughed and said "I think he means yes" so I said "thanks" and went in.

Honestly, I thought my head was on the chopping block. I don't know why, I just did, I always think that. But it turns out they're extremely happy with me, they love my ideas, they love my work. Next week I'll have a "DO NOT DISTRUBUTE" dvd of a major film release this year to watch and get ideas for a campaign from (all I know is "the twist hasn't been done before" and "think horror and blood".... and a couple of other things). They got lots of plans for the year, lots of things they want me to work on, and I said "Now with what I'm about to say, this is why I never made it as a buisness man, but my friends, and this is from outside of the company, asked me to ask about a "Cost of Living" and yearly wage increase" and he said I was right to bring it up and will talk to the MD when the guy is in a good mood.

In general, everything is awesome work-wise... and I'm getting emails and calls for people headhunting me, but I'm replying "thanks but no thanks" to them.

0o0o0oh, also, we got featured on one of the biggest gadget news websites in the world today, one of our videos went completely viral, and we're seeing our pageviews hit the roof in an unpressedented way.... it's thrown all our graphs off, but the site code has handled it perfectly.

00o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0oh, I spent a good 10-15 minutes talking to the cute girl in Waitrose from the other day today, she was laughing a lot. I might get to put it in her. Maybe.

I've started watching Dexter for the first time, really enjoying it so far.
And I've got a prawn curry, indian starters, mango chutney, rieta, popadoms and nun bread for dinner, as most of it was end-of-day-cheap. And a "Red velvet whoopy pie" for afters 'cus I donno what it is but the cute girl recomended it to me.

=D Things are lookin' up !
0o0o0o0oh, yeah', another thing, my collegue makes about £X,XXX/month on some iphone and android app he made, and he's gonna get me to do the Windows Phone 7 one and we'll go 50/50 on it. It won't make that kind of money, but these tiny little apps that take a weekend to make are now paying his rent and bills, and once they're made, they're made, you just watch the cash roll in.
(, Fri 13 Jan 2012, 21:40, Reply)

You see, the thing is this right, if you get in a vehicular smash then you'll get off much better if you're nice and relaxed.
And as for France? Well just about the only thing wrong with France (one of the finest countries in the universe) is that it's populated by the French. The most arrogant race on the planet. And why are they so fucking arrogant? Cos they know, they FUCKING KNOW that they live in one of the finest countries in the universe.
(, Fri 13 Jan 2012, 21:37, Reply)
IMHO the most arrogant fuckers are the English.
Always amused me that you're enemies with the French and call them arrogant. It just means that you feel the same way about your southern neighbours as the Scots do, and that maybe you hate them so much because they remind you so much of yourselves.

Amirite?

A mate of mine is a Radiographer at Broad Green, Liverpool.

He's seen junkies come in who have launched themselves off 5 storey buildings with only minor damage, because they've been convinced they were flying until they hit the ground, so totally relaxed.

"Nostalgias about old Friday nights a bit"
But most of the best ones were chemically enhanced and I can't do that now.

there used to be such fun, such dreams
such come down/hangovers

There used to be such high ambitions
"I'm going for her/him."

There used to be confusion, lost hours, stupid dancing, disputes, recriminations, tearful reconcilations, hilarity, ridicule, unexpected confessions.

I'd do it again once, but I can't make it the life it was.

i'll be honest
I was never that cool. Mostly there was beer and rock music and high energy, low coordination 'dancing' and sticky floors, ridiculous crushes that went nowhere and high fat breakfasts.

I could do this again, but friends keep wussing out

I never even did that.
I've always been a sad old mare.

It wasn't cool.
It was the very small bar of a downstairs club in Leeds which is now a strip-joint.

The DJ was astonishing - that's what hooked us.

Staff had no problem with punters scoffing lines off the tables but hated pissheads.

Ultimately it was a lot of pent-up nervous financial sector energy and angst built up during the week and dissipated on Friday night.

Yes, of course I'd do it again for the sheer sense of relief/release.

Speed or coke?
I'm thinking speed.
Christ, you on coke? Scary thought.

Me on coke.

I became slightly irresponsible
But maintained my composure...

Did I buggery - how d'you think I managed to get married? Lisa was a bigger hoover than me.

I never imagined this about you.
Fucking revelations, man.
This changes everything.

Were there breakbeats involved?
I love a good breakbeat.

No.
He opened every night with "Groovin with Mr Bloe" and followed off that.

Get yer arse on the next charabanc to north Cumbria and we can paint the town red one more time...
Well, maybe pale red?
Pink or orange, the choice is yours!

One day
It's all gone a bit mad workwise.

Been offered a 16 week process-management contract, and my own business is getting busy too.

My Sister can run my business normally but she's snowed under with her own job.

So the property condition thing's picked up again? Good stuff mate, happy for you!
I think I was only joking about the massive drugs, for medical reasons I think I need to leave them in the past.
Gaz on it's way, by way of explanation...

Just thinking there - what a match made in heaven
Gronz and Plumdozer - the two biggest Breakbeat men.
(, Fri 13 Jan 2012, 22:45, Reply)
For some reason (LOL) I read that as Gonz, not Gronz.
Now it makes sense.
;)

It's all gone quiet now
Why, pray tell? Are we all comatose, or embroiled in Friday night TV, or simply dissatisfied with the level of discussion on offer?
(, Fri 13 Jan 2012, 22:53, Reply)
Comatose?
In your fucking dreams ;)
(, Fri 13 Jan 2012, 22:55, Reply)
Anywho, speaking of comatose...
The meds are kicking in so I'm off to the land of nod.
Sweet dreams, sweet-cheeks ;)
