Firm's creditors get first dibs I think
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:30, Reply)
yeah, this happened to a few friends during the dotcom
thing popping
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:31, Reply)
You should be able to claim it as a creditor
If they really have gone under then you need to get the claim in asap and you will be a priority creditor, they normally do individuals ahead of company
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:34, Reply)
employees are preferred creditors
so your salaries are at the top of the chain and get paid as a priority. but only if there are funds, and only pro-rata as to what is available, and it might take ages.

are you insured? get onto your insurer pdq if so.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:39, Reply)
preferred creditors thats the word I was after

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:40, Reply)

All the directors mobiles are off
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:32, Reply)
surely there has to be some kind of notice
or explanation of what's happening?
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:33, Reply)
I would have thought the board would have know about it for a while
But they aint going to let rumours fly around are they?
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:36, Reply)
no, but I think they probably should
say something now
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:37, Reply)

have you tried contacting anyone at those branches?
Did you get the details of the people that came in?
Did you check any information they gave you? ID etc.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:38, Reply)

Sorry I just went and got some beer, Nothing sexual or noncey far worse
The pissing around on here documents are small fish, I’m talking about corporate espionage, backhander lists, dirt on some people that can’t be bribed, I’m not proud of some of the things I do to obtain the large contracts but it’s a dog eat dog world in multi-national construction contracting.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:50, Reply)
These sound incriminating for other people rather than you, no?

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:53, Reply)
Monce some of what I do is criminal in the eyes of the business world and the law of course

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:57, Reply)
Oops
See Bonzo's points below. They will wipe the PCs and flog them.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:04, Reply)
Bribary, backhanders and corporate espionage what do you think?

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:06, Reply)
If the firm's been shut down due to being busted for illegal activity then you're in the shit
but if they've gone bust who is going to pay someone to sit reading eveyone's documents? It would take months and they've a duty to get as much cash as quickly as possible. You're fine.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:10, Reply)
I think it's the main contracting side that caused this
nothing to do with my side
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:13, Reply)
I think you work at Shawshank.

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:14, Reply)
Should you be posting this?!

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:25, Reply)
As long as I don't mention the Company I should be ok, yeah?

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 18:20, Reply)
If it is any consolation
and assuming its a liquidation firm that are locking up the shop, they wont care about anything on the HD's as they will sell them all to a recycling firm either for wiping or destruction... ICO regulations means that the information "should" be destroyed
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:58, Reply)
I should add
they don't actually care about the information it is the physical value of the hardware etc.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:58, Reply)
It's OK - wikinonces will have already published it to the Guardian.

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:47, Reply)

my brother and his wife are both insolvency practitioners. the employees are the last to know. otherwise they'd all fuck off and/or take stuff.

it sucks.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:40, Reply)
Especially if, like Harters, you've got a car.

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:42, Reply)
everything from clients to photocopy paper goes up for grabs

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:43, Reply)
When Lehmann went tits up
one of my friend's teams was pimped around the other investment banks like a 10 dollar whore. It was extremely funny. She reckoned she was technically was employed by Lehmann, Barclays Capital, Nomura and then Jefferies within 24 hours. That's a fuck of a CV.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:46, Reply)
yep
my friend nick is a banker, and he said that all he could see from his window, day after day, was a stream of people leaving. his bf told him to set up a stand in the square selling cardboard boxes...
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:48, Reply)
I was watching something the other day about staff who worked for the Thompson directory.
The staff were called to head office, told the company was in administration and then told to leave their car-keys behind and to make their own way home.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:44, Reply)
Hang on, that was Alan Partridge

The look on his face as he drove my Lexus away was akin to a sunshine coach passenger with a lollipop :(
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 18:31, Reply)

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:34, Reply)

bunch of blokes sounds 'not very official' - did they have any sort of identification about them?

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:38, Reply)
I'd assume they did.
Directors not answering cellphones doesn't sound good.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:43, Reply)
they're all in the liquidator's pocket

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:55, Reply)
The liquidators prolly took their phones

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:57, Reply)

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:58, Reply)
Same shit happened here when Jessops went tits up a few years back.
Area manager turned up in their flagship store in town, everyone had 20 mins to fuck off. Job centre next working day. Bastard. My advice is to nick everything you can.

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:53, Reply)
The difference is a bunch of kids working in shops have little to lose
Poor old harters has ( for now) a wife and kids to look after
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:58, Reply)
hence my high street rant point
there will be no jobs for people working in shops if people continue spunking money up tesco's arse and online without making the effort to spread it a bit more evenly!
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 16:59, Reply)
Poor old tesco get such a bad rap for being successful

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:00, Reply)
they can act like total cunts
but mostly let them get on with being successful. however, don't buy your camera there because it's £5 cheaper, which is fuck-all, and then whine because your high street is dead and there's nowhere to print your pictures or employ your scrotey kids... buy your food at tesco and your camera at jessops, as it should be!
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:01, Reply)
So really it's people's fault

(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:02, Reply)
yes
it's all people's faults. people are cunts!
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:03, Reply)
jessops is gone
and as an ex employee of those cunts, they probably deserved it. Go to independent camera shops, they know their stuff
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:05, Reply)
we used to have a lovely one in wilmslow
it's now a pizza express. people just don't value the right things :(
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:07, Reply)
How often to do you buy a camera.
And how often do you pay for pizza?

I think the answer to this might explain the closure of the Wilmslow camera exchange.
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:10, Reply)
i bought two cameras from there
and one pizza

so rap about that, rapboy!
(, Fri 13 Sep 2013, 17:58, Reply)
