There's my afternoon sorted
What are you up to this afternoon? I've just had a jacket potato and a Crunchie ice lolly. What have you had?

I'm working the late shift all this week, so I've been houseworking like a mother.
I think today I might have the afternoon off to play 'video games'.
Are they still video games if they're on the pc?

Sounds like fun
If we don't know any highly personal things about other b33tans can we just make them up?

Absolutely.
But remember, if you do know any deeply sensitive secrets about others on here, be sure to share them.

Research into the licensef trade. Sitting in the beer garden with pizza and free booze, reading about local microbreweries. Hard work.

I was so excited for that film when it came out
I think I convinced myself I liked it at the time because I so desperately wanted to. It had a shitload of production issues but that's no excuse for ruining the mythology of the first film in favour of having them come from the Planet Zanussi.
I'm off to Scotland soon and I'm visiting a castle specifically because it was used in Highlander. I'm also visiting a telephone box for similar reasons. /intofilm

I had a meeting in the local office this morning which involved having to 'get dressed' in 'clothes'
And this afternoon now I'm back home I have 2 teleconferences, one of which is my '1-2-1' and not in fact 'arse-covering horseshit'.
To calm my murderous rage I spent an hour down the allotment at lunchtime and harvested my Charlotte potatoes. I've got literally fucking millions of them.

The first one is OK, with an excellent soundtrack
The second one is irredeemably shite.
Never seen the third but imagine probably similar to the second looking at the summary. If you're lucky it might be like the TV mini-series which was below average.
Some films should on no account have sequels, and Highlander was definitely one of them.

Hmmm...
This glowing review of "OK", even from an esteemed film critic as you, combined with a soundtrack featuring songs by Queen, are enough to tell me not to rush out to see this.

Yeah, it's great.
So we have to log faults for our users, all of whom have problems that are world-endingly urgent according to the endless nagging we get, which take several weeks to resolve.

Yeah. When I worked for an oil company it took days for someone to get permissions to our application as it went though so many hands.
And despite us supporting the app, we weren't allowed to grant it.
Did managers know the approval process? Yep. Did they know it was stupid? Yep. Did it stop them nagging people who were powerless to do anything? Did it fuck.

When I was Marketing Director for "an Oil Company" back in 1768

Our Marketing department needed a particular Google+ app.
So I sat down, worked out what was needed. Just a pretty simple OU set up and an app rolled out to it. Except I've got no rights. I tell the one global guy, he gives me a smug "I know", then has a conversation with an American who opens it up to the entire company.
EXCELLENT BEST PRACTICE PROVISION OF AS NEEDED ACCESS THERE, GUYS.

User Access Control
Get this, you can log directly onto the console of a server as an Enterprise Admin (never mind Domain Admin) and if UAC is on you still can't even modify a text file unless you right click to "Run As Administrator"... which you are anyway
