Morning Lusty
It's the early-birds club again!

How are you today? I'm feeling quite chirpy after a great evening last night, but I can feel myself on top of the long slippery slope into the 72%. Damn it.

Morning Ducky
Were you out with a special friend last night?

I was in bed before 9 last night. Sometimes I'm so rock & roll it hurts!

Morning Spakka. Happy b3ta birthday! :)

and hello No3l
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:13, Reply)
I was indeed
and it's bad. Really bad.

I met my special friend for a quick drink at 6pm. We were booted out at closing time, and there wasn't even any alcohol involved.

I'm a bit over-cautious of stuff like this at the moment, but I got one of those weird scenarios where you spend the entire evening trying to find reasons to pick fault with someone, but not finding anything. *nervouses*
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:17, Reply)
A fine morning to you all
and happy b3taday, spakka!

One day closer to Friday means one day closer to the weekend. Which is always good.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:20, Reply)
You're doing well
if you can't find anything annoying about her :)
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:20, Reply)
Now I've started work, am going to bed earlier
But my b3taday is a special occasion so I stayed up to celebrate.

Thanks for the wishes.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:22, Reply)
Well I think that's lovely!
But I am a bit of a squishy one when it comes to things like this. If you enjoy someone's company then why stress? It's not like you have to marry them this weekend. do you?
Just have fun and be happy. :)

Hmmmm I seem to be in a very 'share the love' mood this morning.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:23, Reply)
I just checked
and I see it's my b3taday in four days. Which is Monday.

Unfortunately I'm unlikely to be around here as I will be away seeing a particular lady for the (slightly offset) weekend and won't be back until Tuesday. But maybe I'll try to log on from hers to say hello.

In the meantime, I'll just have to put up with gross horniness...

*spreads love over wanderlust*

Oops, sorry. I'll wipe it off.

Morning All
Not been here for a while, been busy with work :(

How is everyone this morning.

I'm in a great mood, saw Steve Coogan last night at the NIA.

fucking brilliant
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:28, Reply)
The trouble is that
when I get nervous about something, I turn into the biggest ham-fisted klutz imaginable.

Still, I suppose it's encouraging that smacking my head on a light fitting and tipping a plate of chicken over last night only made her laugh :)

K2k6
Are you going to be in Londondon? You mean you'll make the effort for a lady but not for b3ta bashes? Nice to know we're loved!
*cries*

@Ducky I wouldn't worry. I've accidentally flashed someone on a date before and they still asked me out again.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:36, Reply)
Lusty
That might be WHY they asked you out on a date again ;)
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:40, Reply)
Yes, Lusty
Indeed I am.

I would come and say hello to London b3tards, but I suspect there will be plenty of opportunities in the future for that, if this relationship continues as I hope it will. Anyway, none of you are offering me two days of rampant lust.

Are you?

*raises eyebrow*
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:40, Reply)
I'm the same.
I turn into a gibbering mess around ladies I like :-S
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:41, Reply)
@Ducky
Are you trying to say it had nothing to do with my dazzling wit and charm?

@K2k6. I can't offer you any lust rampant or otherwise I'm afraid. I can't speak for anyone else though...
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:46, Reply)
My way of overcoming "being with a lady" nervousness
is to pretend I don't like her as much as I do (but still liking her). This has actually helped calm my nerves.

@K2k6: Hope things go well with your lady-friend. Is this a saga I've missed coz I'm not on the day-threads much? Anyway, if you are in London, don't forget to give us Londoners a shout.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 8:48, Reply)
Lusty
Your dazzling wit and charm set up the deal, but the flashing sealed it :)

Happy B3taday Spakka. Morning all
If I'm with a nice lady that I like I tend to drink far too much (Not that much of a difference then), buy them lots of drinks, and then do something stupid.

It often doesn't work, the last time it did that She said yes, and I haven't seen her since! That was at Easter.

That's the exact reason why I was staying off the alcohol last night. I usually end up drinking too much and making a tit of myself. Seeing I was very keen to impress the particular lady last night, I thought I'd lay off it :)

Why so chirpy? It's good though, we love chirpy.

And ducky, that's so sweet about the lady! Mr VP was trollied when we first met, didn't put me off.

Although the fact that the next time we met he fed me 4 double gin and tonics probably helped the situation.

Thanks for the offer mate. If I plan this right, I should be able to make the Coventry bash and be able to meet Pooflake, however. So, no beer until then, I think. Well, apart from tomorrow that is. If the ex sticks to her promise which is about as likely as uk.gov doing something correct for once.

Oh
I don't know if anyone else here cares but I see that David Tennant has said he is leaving Doctor Who.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 9:51, Reply)
^ I heard
Ms Crow sent me a rather distressed text message last night with the news. It's a shame - firstly as I thought he was quite good, and secondly: doesn't the Doctor technically have only a few more opportunities to regenerate?

The question is: who should replace him?

(Haha..."who" should replace him...sorry...)
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 9:56, Reply)
*hugs TGB*
It was a graphics problem, which meant that my screen was bleeding through colours. It looked very pretty, but not conducive to work.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 9:57, Reply)
I'll check with a passing spog
how many times he can regenerate, I think it's 13.

Tennant was number 10 so there will only be another two times. I think they would be able get round it some home.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:01, Reply)
13 sounds about right
And is he the tenth, or are we also counting the radio series in which the Doctor is Paul McGann?

Though the good news is that Russell T Davies is also leaving. (Which will hopefully make the daleks less gay)
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:03, Reply)
re: Dr Who
www.b3ta.com/board/8885884
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:05, Reply)
True
The Doctor can only have 12 regenerations, and thus 13 incarnations, so we canm only have another 3 Doctors.

But The Master, at the last count has had 15, as his 13 incarnation was in the Tom Baker era episode 'The Deadly Assassin', so there is a way out. Oh wait, no there isn't, to get more life there would need to be other Time Lords, and they are all dead!
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:07, Reply)
Let us not forget
That RTD managed to crowbar another Time Lord in to the story last year. So there's always room to grow that way.

Ask Davros, he'll know.

As for the next Doctor? Hmm. Andrew Lincoln?
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:08, Reply)
hello all
how are we today?

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself - just found a scroll wheel on my keyboard for scrolling windows, yay! (There's another on the other side for the volume, never thought to try this one before).
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:09, Reply)
a passing spog tells me
that McGann counts as he was in the TV film thingy. However the films don't count.

I'm not sad to see the back of RTD. I have no problem with people being gay (some of my best friends.....) but did there have to be a gay person in EVERY story?

Moffett is now in charge, as the man who wrote Girl in the Fireplace and Blink I think we are in safe hands.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:10, Reply)
Well
We already know that Michael Jayston is the last Doctor.
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:11, Reply)
Do we
Doktor?
How?
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:12, Reply)
I disagree
My nominee for the last Doctor would be Brian Blessed.

Edit: Re Gay people in every story - ever try Torchwood? It might as well be called Men in Black Move To Cardiff With Added Bumsex.

(But it's hilarious if you don't take it seriously.)

ahahahahah!

Kaol that's not good! And yes I demand more comics right now.

Also Torchwood was incredible in the fact it did manage to have every man kiss every other man at some point. Me and my old housemate used to play drinking games to it. Which ir probably why I don't remember any of the James Marston episodes
(, Thu 30 Oct 2008, 10:27, Reply)
Mrs Bin
In the Colon Baker era the epistodes The Mysterious Planet, Mindwarp, Terror of the Vervoids, and The Ultimate Foe.

He played The Valeyard, who was shown to be the 13th incarnation.

I think that I should be the next Doctor, and I could have B3tans as my companions.

Morning all!
Good morning everyone,

I'm slowly heading to work after my two exciting days away in Gateshead/Durham.

Having decommissioned Sky Sports News' Gateshead network connection and installed the new kit in their new Durham office only to find out that no one thought to tell me that new equipment was also needed at the Newcastle POP.

So having done 600 miles in the last two days I now probably have to go back up there tomorrow :-(

On top of that I managed to get flashed by a speed camera on the way back, having spent most of those 600 doing 95+ on the motorway I got caugt doing 35 in a 30 a mile from home!

How is everyone else today?

In my experience, Russians tend to be quite hostile if you're anything but white.

I was once in a convoy driving through Russia. When we reached the border to enter Russia, they let all of us through without a problem, except for my friend, who they gave the full 3rd-degree border guard treatment to. My friend hails from Trinidad.

All the way through Russia, people were openly hostile towards him. I thought some parts of the UK were bad for racism, but that doesn't compare at all with what I saw in Russia.

Pick a day, put it on the Calender, and we'll all come (if we can).

I would suggest Friday the 7th or Saturday the 8th, and The Yorkshire Grey as the venue, it's in Central London and a nice place.

Where about in Surrey will you be based?

Pumpkin? Too new-fangled and American for me. When I was a lad, we carved out swedes (the vegetables, not the people!) for lanterns.

Hard work it was too. They're not soft like pumpkins, but hard, tough vegetables. Character building, that was!

The house used to stink of burnt neep for days if we lit the candle and put the lid on.

But even better, my pre-ordered copy of Fallout 3 has arrived, and I can go get it now, a day before it's meant to be on sale.

I'm not gonna be on b3ta tonight.

Clenders, I don't
I look like the creature from the black lagoon today :)

I've been wearing all my clothes and a hat and been doing stuff that makes me sweaty.

I look a state today,
If that helps?
I didn't sleep last night, and I couldn't get out of bed this morning, t'was too cold.
So I was late for work, haha!

But yeah, in my haste I grabbed the nearest clothes, so today I'm wearing a white shirt that smells of whisky, black jeans, a knackered black leather jacket and a tramp hat 'n' gloves combo.

I look a mess too
I haven't shaved, my mo is laid flat, and I'm wearing a particularly surly expression on my face at the moment.

Awh, Lab,
I forgot about the not-shaving thing!

I have never in my life carved a pumpkin.
Not once. I have never been allowed to go trick or treating either, which may explain why I turn the lights off, draw the curtains, and pretend I'm not in.

/Grumps.

My parents looked on Halloween with suspicion.

Americans go MAD for it though. It's quite scary how in to it they get.
