Ah right. It just seemed to fit with the tradion of being something for the home as well.
If you want to keep with that tradition and give something lasting then I'm sure you have the taste to find some really nice objet d'art, or some small pieces of his & hers jewelry.
We've tended to go for giving presents of an experience rather than objects of late. - tickets for show or a visit to Turkish baths, or weekend away depending on your budget.
