Evil Lu ALert - Earl season one on DVD
Get yourself hoisted onto a lowloader, stamp "wide load" on your arse and head north. I'll put the kettle on.

And if you aren't Lu - what's the best pressie you got and why?

New law of XMAS
A soul legend must die so we get classic sounds in all news bulletins

My money's on Aretha next year
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:50, archived)
Yea, that and all new shitty bands should be lined up against a wall and shot
/heard Razorlight far far too much recently
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:52, archived)
£50, because the HMV sale is actually fucking good at the moment.
I got all RATM albums, an Elbow album, an Audioslave album, The Office series 2, Extras series 1, and, best of all, the new Foo Fighters DVD, which is actually fucking great. All for less than fifty quid.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:42, archived)
that was 50 quid wasted then
*sighs*
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:43, archived)
foo fighters went poo
take it back and get the first one

if you have the first one then just do a dance
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:45, archived)
The second one's alright too
but after that.... meh
(a lot like Pearl Jam)
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:47, archived)
yeah
second was great too

i like pearl jams new one
but only cause i saw then at reading this year and eddie played iron man on a ukalae while off his tits
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:50, archived)
I vaguely remember quite liking One By One
what number was that?
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:50, archived)
4.

(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:51, archived)
The Colour and The Shape is ace.
Foo Fighters is quite good.
There Is Nothing Left To Lose is quite good too, if the most poppy of their affairs.
One By One starts strongly but turns to shit.
I really like their last album.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:50, archived)
You only needed the self-titled one and Battle of LA
The other two are very much shit.

edit: & Audioslave just have not done any good songs, at all.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:44, archived)
They were only £3.50 each, so I thought, why not?

(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:45, archived)
^this^
Except I don't know how much I can get behind his "change the world" rhetoric, seeing as how his parents are both lawyers and he (the lead singer) grew up in the most affluent town in Orange County.

In other words, it's hard to talk about oppression when you were most likely give your first Mercedes at 16.

Isn't Tom Morello's dad the Kenyan president or something?

8 minutes
That was quite a while.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:52, archived)
indeed
i hesitated to post that, because i admit (now) that i didn't make it up.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:55, archived)
It just bothers me as someone
(usually Badger) posts in whenever anyone mentions Rage. As they are, in my opinion, one of the greatest bands of all time, and I consider it rather detrimental to their achievements.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:59, archived)
*ahem*
all their songs are the same *ahem* same four bars over and over *ahem*
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:02, archived)
"in MY opinion"
You will note that MY does not equal RUSSEL(L)
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:05, archived)
what's the point of having an opinion if you're not going to impose it on others?
And it's not an opinion if I say it. It's the truth.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:07, archived)
JMG?!

only when it comes to music.
What I say goes, I'm afraid.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:08, archived)
why?
c'mon then, justify yourself.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:10, archived)
It's really quite simple.
I know about this sort of thing.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:11, archived)
really? how come?

(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:12, archived)
I was born with it.

(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:21, archived)
indeed they are an important band
that won't stop me getting a cheap laugh though
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 23:03, archived)
Meh...
they're just opinions.

Everyone has ne.

(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:46, archived)
I got no presents
and it was excellent
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:43, archived)
This.
I tell anyone who wants to buy me presents to make a charity donation in my name instead. My mum sponsored some Indian vulture chicks for me.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:45, archived)
I shall donate a gobbet of semen to Thames Water
in your name

*works on donation*
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:47, archived)
hooray for not doing christmas
it's taken me 20 years to convince people not to buy me presents
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:46, archived)
it wasnt much convincing
"I'm not fackin' posting that to Poland, mate," said my cheeky chappy brother.

All the seri. (Is that the plural of series? Surely not...)
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:44, archived)
series is a plural in itself
but it devilishly gets treated as a singular for most of its life, like "news"
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:46, archived)

Because I listened to something today through regular speakers and missed my subwoofer lots.

A pool and air-hockey table
Because it's what I wanted.
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:45, archived)
Doesn't it get a bit confusing
with your balls floating around?
(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 22:57, archived)
Nope
It's reversible- pool on one side and air-hockey on the other. My present- I bought it for myself- wasn't much of a surprise but was a damned good present.
