UKIP racist and thick shocker
Leaving aside all the anti-muslim stuff (which is all they have left to appeal to their core support of monobrowed knuckle-scrapers), the thick bastards appear to have it in for motorcycle helmet wearers in the very first paragraph.

To be honest,
If you're just generally walking around with a motorcycle helmet on, you should probably take it off.
Actually, a lot of those a quite reasonable things.
Treating "honour" crime as an aggravating factor seems like a good policy.
Most of the stuff about FGM is obviously appropriate.
Treating racial targetting as an aggravating factor of grooming seems pretty fair as well.

All it does it stigmatise entire communities for the actions of a mad minority. For UKIP that is all they care about because lets face it FGM does not keep PaulNuttalsoftheUkips up at night. There are already laws for all of these, if they are not enforced correctly that is something for the CPS and judiciary...not lots of extra, probably unworkable, legislation (something kippers are not fond of anyhow)

No stigmatizing of " entire communities for the actions of a mad minority" such conservative types though

Its not about the crime to the individual.
It's about the crime to the community.
If a rape gang is composed entirely of one racial community and is raping an entirely different racial community, that is a bigger problem.

Um
Right, so what's your logic right here? In your world there are two choices: either FGM check (let's leave aside ethics, how it would be conducted, efficacy vs effect of said checks on individuals, privacy issues etc etc) or being mutilated. Is your argument that's the only two choices you have?
Do you think through your arguments much?
edit:
While i think about it, how will the checks prevent FGM? Presumably the check will have two outcomes: has or has not. If has, then cannot prevent FGM but could move girl into protected custody or some other positive outcome. This is cool.
Or if has not, and because FGM can occur anytime up to puberty, it cannot identify if the girl is vulnerable or not (unless they have other diagnostic criteria at the check) so has little positive outcome and a whole bunch of negatives assoc with the check.
So what I'm trying to explore here is that this is an incredibly complex issue and not binary as your argument likes to emotively explore.
edit ##
"Ukip’s approach is horrifically heavy-handed and will alienate the very communities we are trying to reach out to. We should be training our teachers and other providers such as community experts to identify those at risk and teaching children themselves that FGM is wrong and to come forward if they fear for themselves or a friend.
In coalition, we put a statutory duty on frontline workers to report concerns of FGM - we need them to have the confidence to do so, and this means better training. Research shows that school teachers are still too scared to talk about FGM, honour-based violence and forced marriage, let alone report it. This is where we should concentrate our efforts not forcing girls to undergo invasive medical examinations." Lynne Featherstone

I didn't say anything of the sort. In fact I don't believe I made any arguments at all.
I simply pointed out the absurdity of your "imagine if you were that child" comment in the grand scheme of things.
How about this outcome:
Girl doesn't get mutilated because parents know that they'll be found out and will go to prison.

Still mildly unattractive, overweight Sarah. Poor Sarah, she'll do anything for you but it breaks her heart to wear this dress because she knows you don't see her and you're seeing something else and it scares her to think what it really is. When we went in we were directed to the front row because the ossifers thought that if they were in the front he'd pick on them. They were wrong. I was meeting the mrs at the the Odeon and walked past the night club queue. At the time I had a 'two and a half' haircut and I was wearing my darkest work suit. For some malicious impulse type reason I said 'not in those shoes' to some lad. Who exploded with explanations of how they were really expensive loafers and totally met the dress code. And who followed me into the cinema before realising I wasn't a bouncer.

Yeah, I'm one of them.

Elections can be open or closed or semi-open (or is it semi-closed?). But I have decided that voting for principled candidates (since I won't likely be voting for one of the two major parties in the foreseeable future) outweighs not being able to vote for them in a primary election. I actually don't know all the ramifications of what I've done. I do know that I've joined the population of independent voters who comprise a majority of voters. So if we ever get our act together, we could win elections.

I overestimated you.
"I do know that I've joined the population of independent voters who comprise a majority of voters. So if we ever get our act together, we could win elections."

I don't like war. Or shifting of wealth from the poor to the rich.
I'm voting my with my conscience; not out of fear.

Re: Apologizing
Yuka Kinoshita apologized for crying about the breaking up with her cheating boyfriend on a call-in show. Her ritualized apology for thinking only about herself was both heartbreaking and mocked. [turn captions on]

It is a very strange cultural thing.
As weird as it is, I think it's probably better than our own culture where apologies often have to be demanded from people who then only do so reluctantly and insincerely. I despise the construct "I apologise IF...". Even worse is the "only God can judge me" mentality. On the other hand we have a culture where the press and social media demand apologies from people who have nothing to apologise for. I remember being annoyed when a footballer was photographed on private property having a fag and the headlines were along the lines of 'from hero to zero'. I don't know. There must be some middle way. Here's a piece that changed my opinion on Tim Farron's reticence about homosexuality: blogs.spectator.co.uk/2017/04/tim-farron-great-liberal-witch-hunt/
I still don't like him, or his reticence, but I no longer intend to raise the issue with the hordes of Lib Dem canvassers that are so prevalent in my constituency.

It was something to think about
when interviewing the father of a Japanese man beheaded by ISIS militants he apologized for his son creating a distraction. It is culturally appropriate to acknowledge that sadness is everywhere and his own sorrow is no more deserving than another's.

Well ok but
I was going to try and offer a constructive counterpoint, but I've just got back from the pub and I'm well on the way so I'll leave it.

I'm actually struggling to differentiate
Between exactly what was true and what was false in that clip. I think it's about 98% true.
