# things go in and out of fashion though
I saw a twelve year old wearing a trilby yesterday
When i was that age you'd have got the shit kicked out of you for wearing a 'proper' hat
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:02, archived)
# Trilby hats were all the rage in the '80s with the SKA revival and Blues Brothers
it's nice to see some kids actually breaking with the current Chav look.
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:06, archived)
# yeah, I thought he looked super cool
mainly becuase I look shit in any type of hat
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:27, archived)
# Have you tried wearing an Ass Hat?
;)

# When I was at college there was a zany type who used to wear a bow tie to show how wacky he was.

He was a right cunt.
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:31, archived)
# Superb
was watching the new Doritos ad that won the competition you entered and I'd have to say yours was far better and more inventive. The whole District9 effect has been done to death now, meh!

**** on a side note I'm 1 year older today, boo!

as long as I fool myself into forgetting what it's actually about :D
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:10, archived)
# I saw that the other day
was that actually made by the entrant, or did they remake it with a big budget?
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:04, archived)
# I think they must have remade it
but couldn't say for sure - which is why Mr Toasts ad was far better it wouldn't have had to be reworked.
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:08, archived)
# I assume it was an entrant, one with lots of expensive software, staff and a way of ignoring half the rules
(unless they got sign off from every single person in what was quite a large crowd scene)
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:23, archived)
# What was the competition rules?
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:26, archived)
# use lots of expensive software, staff and ignore half the rules byt he sounds of it
It seems very odd to run a competition for 'amateurs' and then the winner clearly seems to have had the budget of an average british film
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:28, archived)
# Saying that the whole District 9 effect can be simulated in AfterEffects very cheaply
however the raw footage to be tracked on what looks like a "Red", the crowds and the laboratory scene and actors must have clearly been beyond amateur budgets.
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:34, archived)
# lots,
no trademarks visible, everyone on screen must sign a release, suitable for showing at any time (nothing scary or rude), etc etc.
But with a possible prize of £200,000 its not surprising professional operations had a go.
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 9:40, archived)
# Yeah wide open for professionals to exploit the "amateur look"
but this is so obviously made to look like that it shouldn't have won - we need up-and-coming talent not professionals muscling in for the cash.

Next time, Toast go full b3ta on their asses and make it as edgy as you dare - you never know they might just go for it, remember that Mobile phone frog with his willy out now the world needs to see a Happy Toast design full frontal!

# Very nicely done!
but somehow I am not being drawn to the new Doctor this season...

maybe I am just an old get, but he does not seem like a Proper Doctor, and the scripts are not helping. I will give it a bit more of a chance before I stop recording, but I just don't know.
(, Mon 21 Jun 2010, 10:09, archived)
# I've felt quite the opposite weirdly
I think he's the best thing since Baker and the scripts have been the best possibly ever at times. But then I'm not a huge Who fanboy so I probably don't know what I'm talking about.
