Just a quick question, did you guys learn to use photoshop from some place (if so, where?) or did you just mess around with it till you got good?

adobe.com have some decent tutorials. When I first *ahem* acquired Photoshop I decided to do some tutorials, then got bored and put kitten's head on a sumo wrestler.
In fact, I still do that when I'm bored.

Edit: Erm, start with large source images so that your mistakes are much smaller when you shrink it. Learn how to add to/subtract from selections. Use magnify to tweak your selections. And the eraser set to less than 100% opacity is good for blending.

I know how to use Corel PhotoPaint - can't remember ever actually learning it, used to play with it as a youngster - and I'm about to switch to a job where I'll have to use Photoshop and frankly I'm not too happy at the prospect...

I then mostly forgot how to use it again until about a year ago when I came on here. It's a lot better these days, you don't have to turn the crank handle to get it to load.
