The 4th EVER Brum B3ta Bash

Come from all over to the exciting Birmingham B3ta bash! A fun time for all the family, bring entertaining things and lube.

It's gonna be The James Brindley, Bridge Street. This is just off Broad Street, next door to the huge blue towering Hyatt Hotel.

(, Fri 14 Jul 2006, 12:31, Reply)
Sounds great! Sign me up!

For now at the very least. Tis subject to figuring out where it is. The week before my birthday too, so I may drag along a couple of non-b3ta mates as well, if you don't mind.

(, Sat 15 Jul 2006, 14:33, Reply)
welcome!

I want somewhere central... thinking maybe the James Brindley, next to the Hyatt hotel off Broad Street... nice big canalside garden, cheap beer (for town) and so on...

(, Sun 16 Jul 2006, 2:13, Reply)
'fraid I don't know that place, but I know where the Hyatt is.

I'll find it anyway. Cheap beer sounds like a plan!

I like this idea

would a place to crash be availiable or do I need to sort out a youth hostel?

(, Mon 17 Jul 2006, 9:59, Reply)
I'm sure something can be arranged :)

I live not too far away from the centre, and may possibly have room for a couple in my room, but its a bit small and maybe cramped as I live in a shared house.

(, Mon 17 Jul 2006, 14:38, Reply)
I will see

who is going etc first as it is a while away, but I will keep the offer in mind

(, Tue 18 Jul 2006, 12:26, Reply)

I propose the Custard Factory's Medicine Bar for some post-pub-closure fun and frolics, depending upon who is on that night.

...might there be room in one of your most mildew-tastic cupboards or baths for my drunken collapsing afterwards? I have a place provisionally sorted, but, since the host in question isn't actually coming, my conscience may get the better of me when I suddenly realise it's 3am and i'm implausibly beasted...

Oh, and what time are people gonna be there?

(, Sat 26 Aug 2006, 18:54, Reply)
Time & Motion.

Will be running late thanks to Septegenarian Mother-party. I tried to explain that I would prefer to go and meet some strange youths I've never met before at a canalside pub in Birmingham, rather than celebrate her impending 70th birthday, but she became violent and unpredictable.

I've settled for an early dinner, folllowed by the Bash.

I'll probably be there about 10:30pm.

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 11:31, Reply)
*chuckles*

Violent and unpredictable eh? Super! I hope you bring her along she'd fit right in!

I'll be there around 4 or earlier even!

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 11:33, Reply)
Not a problem.

We managed to get her back in the cage without too much ado - the tranquilisers I got from my contact at West Midlands Safari Park worked a treat. Unfortunately, she isn't allowed within 2 miles of the city centre since the injunction.

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 12:02, Reply)
hey up

well I'll be around town from quite early on, Horrible and I are going to formulate a strategem sometime this week I should imagine. but feel free to add us to msn for ease of organisation :)

*imagines JJ jet skiing off down the canals*

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 11:32, Reply)

I planned on being there at the time Mr H said it’d kick off – 6 (ish).

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 11:38, Reply)

I've got you some crayons as per instruction.

(, Wed 30 Aug 2006, 13:45, Reply)
is there a dress code?

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 13:28, Reply)
Wear clothes.

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 13:45, Reply)
I always dress for the occasion.

Frankly, I don't care if you all turn up in jeans & "tea shirts", because it'll make me look more the sex.

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 14:19, Reply)
You have to wear womens clothes

ITS THE LAW

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 15:48, Reply)
Which is why...

...it's called the dress code.

(, Tue 29 Aug 2006, 17:02, Reply)
I'm dressing as a zombie pirate pimp.

It's a little outfit i picked up at Leeds Fest at the weekend. I do hope it'll suffice.

And it's most definitely the sex.

(, Wed 30 Aug 2006, 13:45, Reply)
Erm...

I've just realised I have no idea where the hell this pub is, and, not coming from Birmingham, the meagre directions/map don't really help. Is it in the town centre? Near to the train station, perchance..?

If somebody wants to take my number and guide me in - cough, as it were - (Mr Horrible? Chorizo?), could they drop me an email to [email protected]? Ta!

(, Thu 31 Aug 2006, 15:38, Reply)
I'll post it here for the reference of everybody:

It's not too close to the city centre (as in the Bullring, etc), but it's just off the main drinking street (watch out for the drunkards in football shirts).

The Hyatt hotel is difficult to miss, as it's fairly large - & it's directly opposite the big ferris wheel thing in Centenary Square.

At the bottom left hand corner, you can see the Five Ways island. That is the top of Broad Street - we need to be at the bottom of Broad Street.

Hope that clears things up for non-Brummies :)

(, Thu 31 Aug 2006, 22:15, Reply)
oh woo thats sweet of you

:)

anyone that also needs to have a telephone number just in case can mail me: [email protected]

(, Thu 31 Aug 2006, 22:56, Reply)
What with trains back to Rugby being so incredibly shite*...

...is there space at someone's house for me and Rsoles (who hasn't actually signed in at the top, the big gheyer) to crash out afterwards?

*last train back leaves at 10:50 - what earthly use is that?

(, Thu 31 Aug 2006, 16:10, Reply)
Lo fa chi wei!

I shall be there earlier than anticipated thanks to a change of plans on Saturday afternoon. Huzzah!

I shall arrive by Hansom Carriage somewhere around 8pm, doffing my bowler to the Doorman on the way in.

For all your sakes, I hope that Mr. Brindley's establishment sells Long Island Iced Tea or I shall be forced to walk the length of Broad Street to Revolution to obtain my drinks there.

Do we have to wear a single red rose, or affect an unusual handshake, to identify one another?
