how's you?
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:04, Reply)

Alright thanks, trying to write an essay titled, "Raising the standards of creative development, specifically focusing on art, craft, and design, with a focus on peer assessment". Dull as fuck.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:08, Reply)
Draw a big cock
And write "it can only improve from this" underneath.

That'll do.

Edward deBono, Lateral Thinking
It's about techniques for creative thinking and problem solving (which is essentially what creative thinking is...kinda). Pretty readable, too.

I think one of my modules was similar to this, we could specialise for one module and set our own assignments. Piece of piss.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:12, Reply)

Yep, this is my title. Shirley Clarke and Michael Meager have some interesting shit to say to be fair. I'm just not in the mood for worK. I'm gonna shoot some baddies I think.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:16, Reply)
Opinions- Kony?
I think its great they're raising awareness, and I certainly think the first world has a strong case to declare non-metaphorical war on the vile fascist cunt, but the charity behind all of this is deeply questionable.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 18:49, Reply)
I have no idea what you're talking about
so I'm going to assume I disagree with you

Gonz, What phone shall I get? My iphone 4 is dull and broken. Contract is up for renewal v soon.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:12, Reply)
I'm more than happy with my HTC Titan, but wouldn't be like to be locked into it for more than the 12m contract.... but that's true of most phones.
Nokia Lumia 900 is out soon, looks amazing, Windows Mobile 7 which is a great up-and-coming system, I honestly think it'll be on par with Android (for apps) by the end of the year, and is already beating it when it comes to general functionailty... youtube "Smoked by windows" for a wicked example of how good it is. Plus if you got a Xbox 360, it has some wicked add-on features.

If you wanna go for android, then, "Samsuang Galaxy Nexus" is the top one, but I'm not as knowledable on it.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:17, Reply)

the xbox one sounds interesting, I'LL CHeck it out. Ta Gonz
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:17, Reply)
I'm not sure when the HTC Titan II is out, but if it's not to far off, you could do a lot worst.
The screen is amazing, but I think it's gonna be too big for most people. I got used to it though, it was a shock when I opened the box, an extra 1.5" on the iPhone is a _big_ difference (Girls, you can relate that, ammirite? ammirite?)... but I really like the phone, it's great for watching video on the tube.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:21, Reply)

May 4th I can change, that sounds good if I can xbox on it.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:26, Reply)

(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:26, Reply)
Possibly
I need to write a full scope doc over the weekend, discuss that and if it still sounds viable, a business spec.

I'm hoping that start up costs will be less than ten grand, including web. If we can come in for that it might be viable.

As I said in the last thread I have a business start up meeting later this month.

Away for a tab.

Just had one but thanks for offering
Sorry - I tend not to bother reading previous threads. Is this the idea you had a little while ago?
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:41, Reply)
Yeah.
Money's fast running out so I need to do something to put food on the table. I can still look for work in the meantime.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:53, Reply)
I didn't realise that if you work less than 16 hours a week
You can still claim JSA. So I suppose that's some sort of support for start up businesses.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 19:59, Reply)
You can get an allowance for the first six months if you're starting up.
My JSA runs out end of April as it's contribution based. All we'll get after that is a cut in council tax and free prescriptions. Which is something, but not much. Plus, even if you work under 16 hours while claiming your money gets cut on a pound for pound basis; I think you keep the first tenner.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 20:06, Reply)
I'd better tell my mate that then
He's been showing them invoices for 15 hours a week since he started signing on and he's not been challenged.

EDIT - can you not then claim something else? Are you telling me that after April despite all your applications you'll be out on your ear?
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 20:11, Reply)
If that's the case, that's their fault.
We weren't able to reclaim money if it had been paid out as a result of the department's incompetence. We could ask for it, but the client was not obliged to pay it back if they'd provided the required information in the first place.

Things may have changed since then, being that I'm going back 12 years. Your mate may be as well to check this out, maybe with the CAB.

EDIT yep. Could claim tax credits, but they go on your income from the previous tax year. Which is shit. And means we'd get maybe £600 in total. The old Family Credit system was more sensible, it went on your current circumstances.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 20:16, Reply)
I don't know the full story
But he was legitimately made redundant and started doing some work from home for a former client. It's a damned sight more than 15 hours a week and whilst he is genuinely looking for other work he's apparently getting a nod and a wink from his JC.

EDIT AS REPLY TO EDIT - You're telling me that I can't believe the Daily Mail any more? If you're not very employable and you live in, say, Rochdale - 30% adult unemployment - you get no money after 6 months. That is shocking to me.
(, Wed 7 Mar 2012, 20:21, Reply)
If that's the case he's very lucky.

You know what Ed Gein said?
When I see a pretty girl, I think two things- number one, I want to take her out and treat her real nice. And number two- what her head would look like on a stick.

Evening all, Lighty checking in
I have had a chicken and ham pie for dinner. Coincidentally, it is apparently British Pie Week, which I only discovered AFTER consuming said pie. I am in tune with the universe or sumfink.

I also used my collapsible steamer basket to do the veg for the first time and on removing it from the pan, guess what? It collapsed and sprayed veg everywhere. Fortunately today is cleaner day so I just scooped it all up and bunged it on the plate.

I have a brisket joint in the fridge and I am going to slow cook it tomorrow, my first slowcooker venture outside "cube meat, cube veg, chuck in with stock and relevant herbs". I am mildly excited by this as I suspect it will be lurvely.

More food news as it happens.

Mine was a gourmet chicken and ham pie
and with steamed veg, I think that makes it quite posh.

I read that as "I have Bridget Jones in the fridge".
And I got quite angry and was going to demand you release her because she's my hero.
