Stockport beer festival tonight!
And again on Saturday.

I'm sorry for all of you who can't make it, I'll drink one for each of you :))

What are your plans for today?
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:13, 118 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Working til three.
Taking a client for an eight-mile walk this afternoon on paths I've not done before. The weather's perfect and she's making great progress, so I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully my legs'll cope after five miles with a stupidly heavy pack yesterday.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:17, Reply)
8 miles walk?
Where and why?
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:23, Reply)
Local to me, and gaz sent.

(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:41, Reply)
Just finished the invoicing so nothing left to do today but look busy.
Off to the gym after work and then pizza and wine.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:19, Reply)
Mmmm pizza
They had weightwatchers pizza cheap in Sainsbury's, so I bought 2. It's not amazing, but it's pizza, and you can always add healthy extra toppings.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:24, Reply)
Make your own healthy pizza.
Better than that weightwatchers crap.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:47, Reply)
^this
homemade pizza is the business. I used a shitload of nectar points to get a breadmaker which is great for making dough
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:50, Reply)
I usually do
But it was £1/pizza, so I tried. I usually don't like ww food at all, it's so untasty.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:50, Reply)
yeah it's just like real food with the good bits missing
the pizza is usually so devoid of cheese it looks like tomato bread.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:52, Reply)
Yep
Even the Asda eat smart food is better (not that I buy much, but I always have one in the freezer just in case)
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:56, Reply)
I always have Chicago Town in the freezer just in case
this is where I'm going wrong.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:01, Reply)
Well, at least you're not trying to lose weight
I'm planning to have tasty pizza in the freezer just in case as soon as I finish this stupid diet.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:08, Reply)
Not untasty, tasteless : )
I've discovered that no matter what I do my belly is going nowhere.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:53, Reply)
Thanks, love
One day I'll learn all the un-, in-, de- and -less :)

Why don't you try belly dancing? Or any other dancing? It's fun and you burn a lot of energy.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:57, Reply)
I want to do salsa or some sort of latin dancing.
I think there are lessons near me but I'm terrible at getting myself sorted and joining.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:06, Reply)
I went to salsa lessons for a couple of months
Really good fun. I stopped because it was £5/hour; but if I could find them cheaper I'd join again.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:09, Reply)
I quite like detasty
I think I'll start using that.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:09, Reply)
That's the good thing about English language
You start using a new word, and if it catches, that's it, you have a new word. You don't need The Royal Academy of the English Language to evaluate it, consider if it's necessary and then, in some cases, accept it as a new word.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:19, Reply)
I think the official line
is that if you can get the word published in a certain number of publications, then it will be recognised as a word. Sadly I can't remember what the threshold is, nor what criteria said publication has to fulfil in order to be recognised (e.g., so "horsetastic," however frequently used in Deagostini I Love Horses would probably not qualify)

I always feel a great sense of relief when they're all finished and ready for posting.

(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:56, Reply)

i'm sure everything is all organised in your company though.

we've been running for three years and are still doing pretty muh everything manually

There's only me in the office.
We're only a small place with ten staff in all including me.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:07, Reply)
still bigger than we are
there's only two of us.

hopefully we're getting a software setup designed for us that will automate quite a lot of things, meaning we won't be so busy doing admin all the time.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:11, Reply)
Well its thursday so nothing much
But tomorrow after work I am leaving Cornwall and heading to Reading to meet up with Peteloaf. We will party for a day or two before heading to Finsbury Park on Sunday to see the free Rage Against the Machine victory gig. Then head back sunday night, arrive back in Cornwall early monday morning and head straight to work because its hand in at the uni so I couldn't get the day off.

Slowly write a monster report for a dull case
Finish at 5 to pick the Lady up, bit of a food shop, she'll shave my head, then we'll play some WoW in the evening to relax!
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:22, Reply)
Sounds like a perfect evening
It's been so long that I don't have time for games :(
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:25, Reply)
I only have time for games
Haven't watched tv in ages, or many films.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:26, Reply)
That might be it
I spend 30 to 60 min per day watching tv (usually while having tea/dinner), that I could spend playing games. Now, they have cancelled most of the series I like, so I should have some more time again for the wii and PC.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:33, Reply)
I bought the complete Dawn of War for a tenner last night
looking forward to getting that
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:44, Reply)

the hourage required might put an end to my other extra-curricular endeavours.

I want to WoW but I'm too busy.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:10, Reply)
It does mean I have a lot of tv shows to catch up on
But I do get out the house to see folk, plus I exercise semi-regularly. It is quite an addictive and fun game though...
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:13, Reply)
It can be a drain, but I do a lot of end-game raiding
My Dad plays a few hours every now and again, and is more than happy at that pace.

I'm going to have to visit Bristol. Is there anything else of interest there?
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:34, Reply)
i've been going to bristol
quite a bit lately. There seems to be lots of odd things going on if you know where to look
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:17, Reply)
Ooo, I've been there.
Brilliant building.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:36, Reply)
I had an awesome curry when I was in Bristol last week
fucked if I can remember what the place was called though. It was in Clifton and had a website remarkably similar to the one you linked.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:43, Reply)
I've been putting off doing some horrible spreadsheet related billing so I need to start that today
but I'm teaching pole tonight and I've got my own class after that as well so that'll cheer me up.

I've faketanned my legs and they smell like shreddies.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:35, Reply)
Are they orange as well?

(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:37, Reply)
No, I use the fair skin one
because my skin is blue. It should be a nice normal colour later on though. I've got pretty good at applying it now so it looks natural.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:39, Reply)
I'm terribly pale too
But I'm too scared of using it. Mark once did for the Rocky Horror (he went dressed as Rocky) and he was orange for weeks (with a terrybly white bottom)
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:42, Reply)
haha
I use Ambre Solaire velvet gel stuff, it's really good and you just put it on like moisturiser, it doesn't streak and is a nice colour. It looks like this: img.feelunique.com/img/products/product_189941265634702.jpg
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:55, Reply)
I might give it a try
But I'm still too scared. Maybe if I find free testers somewhere.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:10, Reply)
I've got a reasonable amount of work to do
but I'm going to put it off until tomorrow so that Friday flies in. Meanwhile, today I'm going to browse the interweb, drink coffee, and generally waste time.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:41, Reply)
I have only some work to do
But I need my boss and the client to answer a few questions, and they're both in a meeting, therefore, I'm bored.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:42, Reply)
Recovering, mainly
I tried to run 10km last night. It hurt.
I'm doing a sponsored 10km on Sunday. This, too, will hurt. I'm not looking forward to it at all :(
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:42, Reply)
You'll find it easier on the day

(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:42, Reply)
What time would you like to do?
I started to train once, but left it after 2 weeks, as my hip got in pain.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:43, Reply)
Not meaning to shut the barn door after the horse has bolted
but I thought the actual raceday was meant to be the longest run of the training schedule? Think you should be taking things easier :P
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 10:52, Reply)
This has been
pointed out to me several times this morning - I would have preferred to have it pointed out last night! Ah well. I was a bit concerned I wouldn't be able to do it, as the most I'd run was 8km. Under an hour would be nice but realistically, I suspect 1hr 20 mins.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:09, Reply)
it would be easier to take a car

(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:19, Reply)
or a helicopter

Working.
Which will be tedious.

Hoping my trousers don't disintegrate further.
Which will be interesting and potentially embarassing.

Posting on here and/or just reading /OT much more than I should.
Which is standard practice these days.

Being a limp wristed Bumder
which is also standard practice these days.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:03, Reply)
Yeah, but I can't really practise that in the office
There are other people in today, and I don't think they'd respond well to an unsolicited bout of severe bumderism.

Oh, hang on, you called me a Bumber. I'm going to assume that's something completely different.
(, Thu 3 Jun 2010, 11:04, Reply)
Bumderism!? Bumderism you say!?
BUMDER ALERT!

EDIT - No I didn't *whistles*

There will only be one more peice work I'll have this year before the exams after these, one peice is almost all off-syllabus (and the one question that is totally on is a bit I can't do), the other is a past paper on still I'm already fairly good on (which will take at least 2 hours).
Plus a tutorial this afternoon so I'm almost certain to be doing that paper into the evening

Interesting to see that the Echo had more details on the guns

Guess there'll be people wanting an outright ban on those too now.
