Doctor When's 3rd Birmingham Birthday Bash

UPDATE: It's all booked and confirmed - DJs, band, venue, PA, knob-jockey (sound engineer) and other entertainments!

Our line up for the evening:
KETLAFISH - singalongarock
LIL' MS VIX BUZZFOX - "burlesque-esque" musical tease
LOLA LENORE - Lovely burlesque lady
DEE CHRISTOPHER - Surrealist magic
THE SUGARFOOT STOMP - Lovely lady DJs
BOOGIE DAVE vs. ROSKOE - Drum & Bass / Dubstep masters

LOCATION: It will be at the Actress & Bishop, Ludgate Hill, Birmingham: Easy walking distance from the city centre, especially if you're arriving at Snow Hill Station.

Dress to impress, naturally.

Cheap Hotels: ETAP | NITENITE | TRAVELODGE
Posher Hotels: CITY INN | NOVOTEL
Spensive Hotels: COPTHORNE | HYATT REGENCY
The cheapest place to stay is mine of course, but I only have space for one so you'll need to be a pretty lady, willing to stay until the end at about 5AM and prepared to "put out". If you're broad minded enough, then there's space for two or three pretty ladies.*

Anything else drop me a Gaz. I'm not posting on B3TA as much these days, thanks to my new employer's strict IT policy, but I check in whenever I can!

Sexy photos: 2007 2008

The event is also listed on Facebook, so if you're not "my friend" already, I'm under Agamemnon When (if you do add me, let me know your b3taname as well!)

*You can't blame me for trying, eh? It is my birthday.

So, you comin', or what?

Let's see if I can make this one, Dr. :)

(, Mon 15 Sep 2008, 22:03, Reply)
Good heavens, this is a long period of notice.

By February I should have the synthesiser/Mellotron*/sheet steel orchestra rehearsed and ready to perform my new tragi-comic five-act steampunk space-opera opera, 'Neo-Luddite Witton Villa Cunts of Betelgeuse 7'. If you need more entertainment for the bash.

Although, unfortunately, female lead Eartha Kitt will be unavailable at that time due to outstanding touring commitments in former Eastern Bloc EU ascension territories. "Check the demographicsssssss, darrrrrrrling," as she told me. Cat Deeley's people haven't yet rejected outright the offer of a stand-in role ("She's not 100% sure about playing a half-feline panel-beater-cum-guerilla-rebel-leader, to be honest," her mum said), but we're more or less cookin'.

But I must say I'm already more than a bit nervous about having recruited a dozen genuine Witton Villa Cunts to make up the Chorus...

*Invented (and still made) in Streetly!

(, Thu 25 Sep 2008, 22:33, Reply)
I love teh Mellotrons

I used to sell bits to Mr. Mellotron and his son when I worked for Maplin in Erdington back in the olden days.

(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 19:51, Reply)
Oh my god.

I knew I'd recognised you from somewhere, Doc.

You sold me several leads/bits & bobs quite a long time ago.

You smell far better nowadays, and your fingerprints are a good deal less corrosive.

(, Fri 17 Oct 2008, 1:41, Reply)
I'm signing up, if I'm welcome :)

It's a long way away and I have tutorial that day but that should make no difference. :)

(, Sat 27 Sep 2008, 9:17, Reply)
Don't worry about the tutorial, Fluz.

There'll be several qualified people present at the bash to tell you your essay was basically utter shit spot on.

(, Sun 28 Sep 2008, 0:46, Reply)

Good day to you sir!

He knows everyone in birmingham!

(, Fri 30 Jan 2009, 10:11, Reply)
I know Boogie Dave and I live 25 miles out of Brum

Considered checking out this bash but cashflow was the more important consideration + not sure I'd be safe around burlesque dancers!

Dreadfully sorry old beans,

I can no longer come to this.

Quite sad about it I am too. :(

Don't thank him until you've actually eaten there.

(, Fri 6 Feb 2009, 19:51, Reply)
Actually..

..it's just a weird-ass greasy spoon that's open all hours. A bit of a phenomenon but not great food, and a bit of a way from the A&B. I was rather pissed last night and suggested it.. In the late-90s was its heyday.

I dunno where to eat breakfast in Brum.. If you're central there are a few half-decent pubs up the hill from New Street around the park/churchyard bordered by Colmore Row and Rackhams.

(, Sat 7 Feb 2009, 0:57, Reply)

Outlook is good for Brum:

This Evening and Tonight:

Many areas will be dry with long clear periods giving a widespread, and sharp frost. A few wintry showers will affect the Shropshire area during the early part of the night, perhaps other areas later in the night. Minimum temperature -6 °C.

Saturday:

Becoming Mostly dry with sunny intervals. A few wintry showers are likely at first, especially in the northwestern counties. Feeling very cold in a brisk northwesterly wind. Overnight frost. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

So, chilly, but no more snows. The feeble excuses you used when you couldn't be arsed to go to work this week won't fool me!
(, Fri 6 Feb 2009, 16:31, Reply)
The snows are gonna be bad round my way,

and on the route to and from!!

I may have to bail!!!!

Snow is sposed to be heavy on Sunday.

On the Weather map it looks like slap bang in the middle between Brum and Sheff.
I may be wrong, but tomorrow's plans are now todays,so I'm having to forfeit the b3ta funtiems.

You mean

youy arranged something else the night of the good doctor's birthday?

You sicken me!

(, Sat 7 Feb 2009, 10:11, Reply)
If I could go back in time

and arrange for my mate to be born a week prior (possibly involving his mum and a pineapple vindaloo)...

I'd probably do something more profitable like invent the PC before Bill Gates or bet on sporting events.

(, Sat 7 Feb 2009, 11:11, Reply)
Since I'm going to be there anyway

I shall stop by and ogle the burlesque ladieswish you a happy birthday.

'Lo peeps

Me cold isnt completely gone, but i feel better, so yeah - ima coming.

Am i allowed to bring a chum? Me and me mate always like a bit of Boogie dave branded dubstep. Not 100% sure if he'll come, but im just asking so i dont wanna seem like a rude twunt.

Was examining the pics from the last 2 bashes, so i should hopefully be able to recognise some of you. Better than going up to random strangers and going "LOL HENRY" to determine if they're b3tans.
