This is a question Bugs and feature requests

Surely been suggested a few times already
...but for QOTW, how about a 'see popular posts' option like with image challenges?

It'd save wading through pages of shite posted by the likes of me....

I made a hat today,
and I'm already pissed off at all the times I forget to put it in.
Any chance you could add a hat feature to the icons, where you can put a permanent hat?

Could we have links back to the posts themselves on the 'you liked x talk posts' bit?
As it is, I can't show people a post I clicked on.
(, Wed 19 Dec 2007, 4:18, Reply)
On /Links, add a hit counter for each link. Could be in brackets next to link subject
Mainly for links that are popular, but aren't commented on - the link poster would know how many people had followed the link. Guess this would need to go through a redirect, or use onClick, to track number of hits.

I hate this
Could we have an "I hate this" button? Ignoring people is all very well, but someone might provoke ire in one post, and then do something great in the next; it'd be a shame to miss that. (I'm reluctant to consign people to outer darkness.)

It'd also mean that, in the QotW, we could click "I like this" and "I hate this" to mean "Your story made me laugh, but, by God and all that's holy, you're an illiterate twat who really should learn to spell and/ or punctuate".

Any chance we can overhaul the FAQ?
It's still talking about things like the swearfilter and the 4rthur dictionary. Can we get the 4rthur dictionary over here too? I used to love reading that.

Feature request - I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest this but -
There are some really good stories on QOTW. Not the "I got drunk and - - -" stuff which is sometimes amusing but gets a bit wearing after a while. But I'll mention a couple I recall - the woman who gave her 20 something grandchildren dolls and a toy ray gun for Christmas, the man who took revenge on former employers by a delayed fuse "bomb" in their computer system and the woman who answered a ringing public phone at random and found the call was for her. Some hilarious, some baffling. Has anyone among the respected moderators of this august site collected a file of these? It could make a great separate page or several and it might even make a book.

Redemption (I grabbed the name from a sci-fi novel title, honest)

Gaz to multiple people
Gaz to multiple people, like CC on an email please
is this possible?
it would make life easier when organising things like bashes and such like.

Thanks you oh Gods of B3ta

A ranking system
Similar to the Stats board, but that shows how many "I Like This" clicks you get.

Maybe over all b3ta maybe split into board/talk/QOTW

The compo with prizes worked a treat.
Perhaps, if you're feeling generous, you should offer B3ta t-shirts or badges, like comics used to do when I was a kid. I think 2000 AD still do. This would be scrotnig.

Possibly mentioned before
All things posted in the /links section can't be edited afterwards..

I'm probably being thick here
but how can I read my replies to QotW questions without trawling through 20 pages trying to find the ones I replied to?
(, Mon 26 Nov 2007, 13:31, 3 replies, latest was 17 years ago)
Apologies if I've already mentioned this, but...
... when I look at posts that I Liked (in my profile), there's no way of seeing the context. Can we either have the white page icon in the top-left of the post, or a 'More' link, please? Most of them are meaningless without context, particularly since I'm a /talker
(, Sun 25 Nov 2007, 1:47, Reply)
When you look through someone's QotW answers you see their replies too.
But if you click on the reply, you don't see the post it was a reply to.

Is this fixable?

pre L-plates quiz
How about a compulsory short quiz so the basics of the faqs are clear. Eg:

New posts should be:
- over 100kb
- a couple of lines of text
- deleted as soon as possible if you cock up, or
- brimming with hummus
etc etc
(, Thu 22 Nov 2007, 19:29, Reply)
suggest: remove the Delete button
If it's a giant cock-up, the poor unfortunate can just Edit their post to "Sorry, this was a giant cock-up". (I should know).

Thread deletion by unfortunate n00bs causes Godzilla-scale flamage every week. Is there ever a time when deleting a comment is a good thing?

/links bug
wmvs autoplay in mac safari - making the entire links board unusable whilst a wmv is on the page

www.b3ta.com/links/137041

possible workaround? don't autoplay wmvs unless direct URL link

Maybe
a 'Mail' or 'Gaz' button at the top alongside all the normal options (QOTW etc.) that takes you to the mailbox or to the Login screen if not logged in, or something.

Why can we only use the 'Friends' activity after being invited by someone else? It seems a strange way of doing it

(, Sat 17 Nov 2007, 19:06, 2 replies, latest was 17 years ago)
Calendar
Can the calendar have another row for the location of the event? Some people don't put it in the title and I'm too lazy to click on each event.

We're all friends here.
How about losing the parenthesis around our usernames, date and post options surrounding every post?
Or will that look messy?

If Anyone Mentions Prince
Can we have the swear filter insert ,the cunt,

Please.

Example.

"I saw Prince buggering a tramp"

Would become:

"I saw Prince,the cunt,buggering a tramp"

And, as a Brucie Bonus, Prince Charles would become:

Prince,the cunt,Charles

A win-win situation I think.

Cheera

Glassco.cx search site not working?
When I try to search for my old posts on glassco.cx, it doesn't show the newest ones, only the ones from a month or so ago. Is this my stupidity, or is there a fault?

How about something cunning
to get b3ta removed from the Websense filter block so I can see the rest of it at work without having to go through Barnesy?

i'd also like them them to bring back swiss cream biscuits but thats a t-shirt on another forum

can there be a remove option after clicking "I like this" by accident?
all too often I hit that instead of reply, and it would be nice to be able to remove the drunken miss-clicks

How hard would it be to programme our Spell Checker?
I want:

Bindun
Prolly
Lully
Internets
Lol (not lol, /o\)

You get the idea, feel free to add more but the most important one for me would be Colour!!
I'm sick of seeing that red underline come up every time I type this perfectly legitimate, English word.
Seriously it is a joke, after however many years on the internets and the amount of retarded shit I have seen made.....

Vote for Freedom, vote for Independence or just good old fashioned Racism, just vote!

Friends' Activity button doesn't notify me of activity
from the main board (it remains grey no matter what) yet it works from this board and it works from the Calendar board.
